Today is 7 March, 2023 and I am having the same problem importing data from EJ. It does not recognize my UN or PW. EJ told me today that I must change my PW to remove any special characters. I did that and it still has the same problem.
I gave up a long time ago and entered it myself. That's no worse than entering your W2 form. I think turbotax owes us a refund!
@Anonymous
I have been trying since Feb 15 +/-
The original post I responded to was a person who had completed his daughters taxes on Feb 4 and import went well but it was Feb12 +/- and it no longer worked. He attributed it to whatever update TT did affected imports from EJ.
Last week he notified me he successfully imported from EJ after TT installed updates. So, it would appear that TT had indeed mess-up on the previous update. BTW - he is on Windows 10, he did not use Chrome but I don't remember which browser. Also, he did not go through anything special just imported.
I use a MAC 12.6.4 and Safari on 16.3. So, I suspect TT corrected the "for Windows" desktop download version but not the "for MAC" desktop download version. I have jumped through all the hoops trying to make imports work; simplify password, log into EJ prior to attempting import, spent 2 hours on phone with EJ Support all to no avail. I can't even get a confirmation from TT that they acknowledge the problem let alone are working on the problem.
So, I am patiently waiting for the "fix" to happen or it's very possible this will be my last year using TT Premier.

If that is still not working for you, you can click here and try the suggested resolution posted by the poster jhitch. Please let us know if this resolves your issue.
I started trying last week and got the same error, and have had the same problem until finally today I got it to work. I called my local Edward Jones rep, and they called corporate. Last week they recommended simplifying my password to exclude special characters, but that did not work. Today they recommended opening my browser and then trying to get TurboTax to connect, still a no go. Then the local office person recommended clearing browser history/cookies, leave the browser open, and then log in with TurboTax. That finally worked. I was using Chrome browser. Yeah!
We are happy to hear everything went through. Thank you for posting how you got it to work, as this will be helpful for the community. @Dennis6580
Same thing happening and it's after the supposed software fix. This is a key reason to use TurboTax. If it doesn't work, there's no point purchasing the software. When will it be resolved?
Have you followed the suggestion by @Dennis6580 above? @Susan84
I have no issue signing in... it shows the documents getting pulled over. If it has anything to do with special characters -- that's still a TurboTax defect. Strong password guidelines include special characters. Is there something in particular that TurboTax cannot handle?
Tried it anyway -- just to make the product usable -- but no, this did not make any difference. Same thing, successful login, looks like the import is working, shows it to me and adjusts the amounts -- it's recognized somewhere in there... then loop back to do you want to import as if it never happened -- but it DID. Taxes are bad enough to waste time on -- to have software that doesn't work is too frustrating. What's the process to get a refund for useless TurboTax? I'm with others, not worth paying for this if it doesn't work. And it's worked for many years prior... so please fix your software.
Please feel free to contact Customer Support so they can assist you. If you inquire about a refund, you will want to use the keywords billing issues when you call so you get to the right person.
From your message I assume you are using a MAC wit the TT download for "MAC" version. With that premise in mind.
Open Safari - Goto Preferences - Privacy - click "Manage Website Data" button - [wait 20 seconds or so for data to load] scroll down to Edward Jones, select it - then the "Remove" button at the bottom of the box. Quit Safari.
Open Safari - Goto Edward Jones Website (https://onlineaccess.edwardjones.com/app/oa-login). You will have to use two part authentication with your Cell Phone. once logged on you can either log off or just go to TT.
After opening TT, Goto Income section 1 to view imports and follow the instructions.
This worked for me including the 1099 consolidated sports. I also checked for to insure information was entered correctly - it was.
Hope this helps...
Windows 11 download version of TT, I've done equivalent multiple times with Chrome and still in endless TT loop. It is importing the data - it shows me that its done it, and I see the numbers adjust -- it just loops back to start the import though. I'll manually enter everything as frustrating as that is.
On the what seemed like 15th try of all the same steps, it let me through to the data it had been uploading. Deleted and imported multiple times. No clear answer on what made it work the final time. But I'll take it. Good luck to others out there.
@xpec0 Thanks, but I figured it out about two weeks ago (see my post earlier in the thread here). Fairly ridiculous that (a) it hasn't been figured out by now, and (b) for some people, it seems that there's a dependency on the web browser (and/or its cache) — that makes even less sense if you're like me and have the desktop version.
