In the past I have been able to have TurboTax go out to Edward Jones and retrieve the investment data needed for my 1040 form. How do I do that?

My EJ password was 12 characters, two of which were periods. I changed it to a 14 character string with just upper and lower case letters and some digits. Much to my amazement, I was able to import my EJ info. I did not do the "two character dance".

I completely agree that TT needs to allow longer passwords with characters that people actually use included!

THANK YOU, xpec0! That is the correct solution for Mac users.  Very frustrating, but you've solved it.  Good work.

I am having the same issue not being able to import forms from Edward Jones.

Desktop version of TT Deluxe

Windows 10 64 bit

Have tried all the suggestions listed except browser changes because using desktop version.

Can open EJ online and see the tax documents

TT does not recognize name/password

Tried a variety of password changes with and without special characters.

@rhart42

This may or may not apply to a windows machine...

I use TT Premier download for MAC. My MAC is 12.6.4 and my browser is Safari 16.3.

I started TT Premier and it went through the TT update process and started up successfully.  I then went to Safari Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data and scrolled down to Edward Jones (Cache, Cookies etc) and clicked "remove".  [Clears out ALL of the stored EJ website information.] Then went to EJ site, had to 2 Party authenticate via a code sent to my Cell text message and log in.  Checked "Remember this computer" to avoid that 2 part authentication, logged out of EJ and went back to TT Premier desktop.

Went to "Import" in TT Premier.  After entering my userid and password TT Premier successfully imported all of my tax data from EJ.  I checked the import and all appears to be correct.

So, it was either the weekly update from TT or the refresh of the Cache, Cookies etc.  I hope this helps another MAC download user out there.

Thank you...

Using the desktop version of TT, so I don't think the browser settings are applicable.   I also no not have 2 step authorization.   Went ahead and spent the hours manually entering all the 1099b sales by hand, so probably won't try anything else this tax season.
