I added the following to my comments above.
ADDENDUM:
Since we don't know your situation, here's another option:
If you started a 2020 return in Online TurboTax and also have the CD/download version, if you wish you can download the *.tax2020 data file you started online and finish/file it in the 2020 desktop software without starting over. We can tell you how to move from Online TurboTax to the desktop version.
I wish I would have known this info. This year, I am doing two federal and one state filings. I thought, when I bought TTDeluxe CD from Amazon, it advertised that there was a way to download previous years' taxes, but it would not "pass" that click-page where it was going to look for the previous year's file, said it was looking, but instead, it locked up and I had to use .... I used TTDeluxe online 3 years now and now finding out I cannot do that either. I had to enter everything from scratch. I would like a way to transfer the cost of the CD toward towards my online TT Deluxe, since I need Schedule C,E for one 'Sole-proprietor" renthouse, and the other taxes were were for my father, and that was finished quickly.
I didn't follow your post. But there are ways to transfer from 2019 done online into the Desktop program. Or if you did 2020 online you can switch it to your Desktop program to file without paying for online.
Transfer from Online into the Windows Desktop program. Expand the 3rd blue link
One way is to start a 2020 Online return and transfer into that. Then you can download the .tax2020 file from online and just OPEN it in the Desktop program.
OR
If you used the online version last year and need to transfer your info to this year's Desktop version there are 2 ways depending on what you have.
1. If you saved the actual .tax2019 file (not just the pdf file) to your computer before online was shut down in Oct. then start a new return and the very first thing you do is Transfer from .tax file. You can only transfer at the very beginning.
2. If you didn't save the .tax file to your computer or lost it, there is a way to do it by starting a 2020 return in the Online version, transfer to that and then continue in the desktop version. You won't have to pay for Online.
First transfer into the Online version
Then to switch to the Desktop program
I'm in this boat. I started to file online, but I have the CD/Download version. No where on the online version can I find "tax tools" or any option to save the file to transfer into the download version.
You have to be inside your online return to get Tools. Continue into your return for the side menus to open up. You might have to Click on Add a State to let you back into your return.
I'm in my return, it gets me to the payment page. Do I actually have to put my credit card info in there? Because there is no Tools menu on the side.
No. If you enter a credit card you will be charged. You can download the .tax2020 file for free.
That's what I figured. Honestly, I've fairly tech savvy, and there is no option anywhere to download this tax file. When I'm in the return and I click the drop down for "File" is just has CRA Online Mail, which doesnt do anything.

There should be a card in the CD case that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.
How to activate the Desktop program
