Whats the solution for this?!
I just went to my OPA agreement online and it doesn't show my full payment arrangement for 2020. It just shows my monthly payment and due date. My loan officer is being a serious pain and I can't get the IRS to fax me a letter. Need some serious help!
this doesn't work for me it says
We are unable to complete the transaction you requested.
Please call [phone number removed] ext. 684 for further assistance. When outside the US, call

When I call them....they are useless.. what's the way to fix this?!
Are you asking how to fix the IRS phone system? No one in this forum has any control or access to the IRS. If you need to speak with the IRS, I suggest calling as early as possible to increase your chances of getting through to a person. You can try contacting a taxpayer advocate if you are having problems accessing information from the IRS. @mavericknyc20
The IRS does nothing by email.
You cannot get a copy of the agreement after the initial setup. The copy is sent by mail which can take up to 22 days or more after submitting your income tax and/or applying for the payment plan. I believe there is an option you can select when you first submit it to download a copy of the agreement. There is no "Agreement Package" available for download through your online portal.
@manueldel You are commenting on an old thread. Is there anything we can assist you with?
The answer is still not clear.
I'm getting the impression that one the payment plan agreement is mailed, that's it you do not get another copy.
The only way I've been able to get a printed agreement was to revise my current agreement.
This is similar to a contract with my landlord.
It's my responsibility to keep and preserve it.
No copies are available and it's my word against his.
Just an update for the recent commenters. I was ultimately able to get a copy by mail after calling the IRS several times and just repeatedly asking for it until an agent was willing to type all the details into a letter and send to me. They insist they don't do this and can't do this and "there's no such thing" but they absolutely do, can, and it is. Just keep calling over and over until someone is useful.
You can contact the IRS directly or go to the IRS website.
You can view details of your current payment plan (type of agreement, due dates, and amount you need to pay) by logging into the Online Payment Agreement tool using the Apply/Revise button on the website.
@Lance96816
Can you please elaborate? We were supposed to close today and are so frustrated with our lender and the IRS.
Wow I have been trying to find this and figure it out for 1 year. The irs has chat !!!! FINALLY check out the pic. I asked for a copy of the agreement they said they can't access my account, I realised that I did have a copy of the agreement and they were able to check it via the number on the last correspondence letter they sent regarding the whole installment plan, also I have an annual installment agreement statement that show what we have paid.
Hey did you ever get it?
You are commenting on an older thread that may have outdated information. If you are needing a copy of the installment agreement from the IRS, you will need to reach out to them directly. To do this please call and follow the below prompts:
IRS: 800-829-1040
Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, local time
Monday-Friday
Or, you can visit your local IRS Office.
@HeatherPLO’s step by step advice for line [phone number removed] is the best advice. After setting up my Online Payment Agreement I received an initial direct debit installment agreement ie DDIA confirmation (which you should print, screenshot or save to pdf BEFORE exiting b/c you may not see the terms again until you get a letter). However when I logged back in to see my payment plan it stated under the OPA header "We are unable to complete the transaction you requested/Call the IRS”. I was worried my payment plan didn’t go through so wanted to confirm with IRS. The person I first connected to told me since I had just filed within the last 48 hours is likely why I didn’t see my OPA details yet but that his department could not “see” my specific OPA so he transferred me to what I believe the agent answered as “collections”. That agent was able to look-up and verify my OPA/DDIA agreement and terms.
She also stated that since I filed in April it may take until May or June until the balance owed posts to your account - thereafter you will receive a letter stating the whole balance owed (but don’t worry as you have the payment plan in place). Also, you can make an additional payment prior to your balance populating your irs account - it will be credit until they apply it when the balance owed finally links up. You can go to irs.gov and on the header click Pay and there are various options the easiest being Direct Pay which does not require you to log-in (or make a CC payment for a fee).
I hope this was helpful, it was hard to find information on the OPA and the specific error.
