Can i get a refund advance

I was pre-approved for $1000. Yesterday the IRS recieved my refund and accepted it. I later got an email saying something like “Although you were not approved for a refund advance you will still receive your refund on your turbo tax card minus the fees.” I don’t not have an offset. I’ve never had an issue with a tax refund. I have good credit. I’m not sure what’s going on but if anyone actually receives the money please let me know.

TurboTax Refund Advance is available in certain states. If you qualify for Refund Advance and are approved for the Turbo Visa Debit Card1, you’ll be notified by email of the approved amount and you’ll be able to start spending online, typically within 48 hours of the IRS accepting your return. If you weren’t approved, you will receive an email from First Century Bank, N.A. with the reason for denial and contact information if you have additional questions about the decision.

I was initially preapproved and sent the info to set up the account. My taxes were accepted on 1/28/20 but I haven’t received any additional info on the advance. I can’t find a number to call, please help!!!!! I hope this isn’t a scam as some are saying 😢

I received the approval and the email to set up the account online. However after receiving the acceptance from the IRS I did not get a response for how much I was approved for within an “hour” as advertised. I called Turbo Tax who referred me to the Bank. The Bank states that only Turbo Tax can tell you how much according to their guidelines and it may take up to 48 hours to receive an amount awarded and then the refund. 

H&R Block does have a completely different process that is less complicated and misleading. 
I will wait the 7 hours as you stated and update you if that’s true.

You have to complete the process and when you get to the very end and it ask how you would like to receive your refund the rapid advance is an option at that time.

I got approved for a  500 dollar tax advance they sent me out the turbo tax card I received a letter by email saying to sign and date this to authorize then I then can't get in touch with a live representative unless I upgraded my account for 30 dollars out my tax return to connect with a live representative just to find out it is declined but they clearly stated I was approved have me a temporary card number and said I could shop online now allow 15 minutes before useing it let me activate the the temp.card a week went pass no cash but in the end I'm declined after being told I was approved for the amount of 500 and wait 5-7 business days to start sending

TurboTax will be offering a refund advance loan —but not until January.  And you do not get the money until the 2020 e-file has been ACCEPTED by the IRS.You also have to agree to receive your refund on the prepaid TurboTax Visa.

TurboTax is not offering any type of tax refund advance until January 2021.  Then only after the 2020 federal tax return has been completed, e-filed and accepted by the IRS would you be offered a refund advance if you are eligible.

Sorry the refund advance loan program ended on 2-15.

Sadly, the IRS refund site has been behaving erratically and has not always been reliable this year.   TurboTax has no control over this and cannot find out anything about your refund for you.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.   Many refunds are taking longer during the pandemic.  The IRS is backlogged —-they are still trying to process millions of 2019 returns; they received millions of e-filed on the day they opened for 2020 returns, and now they are burdened with sending out another round of stimulus checks.   

Some delays are resulting from incorrect amounts that folks entered for stimulus checks they received.   Many people have been confused by the recovery rebate credit and completed it incorrectly.  The IRS may delay your refund while they cross-check to see what you received.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
