Im trying to get my taxes from 2017 and turbotax is making it impossible!

Note:  Every year, before mid-October, print a copy of your current year tax return and save it as a tax file and pdf, too.  That way you will have it when you need it for school, a loan, next year’s tax return, etc. without going through a lot of aggravation (and expense)  to get it.

I am trying to follow the instructions in the link you posted, but there is no "personal info summary" anywhere I can see. I am trying to amend and file my 2018 taxes, but without registering I cannot do that, and without finding this elusive "personal info summary" I cannot register. What am I missing?

You have to start a 2019 tax return and complete the personal information section.  After completing that section there will be a Personal Information Summary.  TurboTax online editions for 2019 - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/

Contact support if clearing your cookies and/or changing browsers doesn't work.

Clearing cookies might be the best advice.  I've spent 45 minutes on trying to "register" and can't make any headway.  Frustrating!

Why does it seem impossible to get my 2017 return? This makes me not want to use your services anymore?

For tax year 2019 there is NO requirement to purchase any 2019 online edition, nor is there a requirement that you must file a 2019 tax return using the online editions before you can access to a prior year online return.

You only need to register the 2019 online account to access the prior year online tax returns.

If you are NOT going to be using Turbotax for 2019 taxes  OR  you do not wish to PAY the 2019 Turbotax fees at this time…  then you MUST  CHOOSE THE FREE version BEFORE you log in and stay in the free version.
