When does access to my prior-year TurboTax Online returns expire?

If you filed your most recent TurboTax Online return in:

  • 2016 Federal Free Edition (without PLUS): Access to 2015 and prior-year returns has expired UNLESS you paid for 2015 PLUS, Deluxe, Premier, or Home & Business, in which case you can access your prior-year online returns through October 30, 2017.
  • 2016 Federal Free Edition PLUS, Deluxe, Premier, or Self-Employed: You have access to all your prior-year online returns through October 31, 2018.
  • 2015 Federal Free Edition (without PLUS): Access to 2015 and prior-year returns has expired.
  • 2015 Federal Free Edition PLUSDeluxe, Premier, or Home & Business: You have access to all your prior-year online returns through October 30, 2017.
  • 2014 or earlier: Access to 2014 and prior-year returns has expired.

To regain access to any prior-year return, you can pay the 2016 PLUS, Deluxe, Premier, or Self-Employed preparation fee. This will reestablish access to all your TurboTax Online returns, both past and present, through October 31, 2018.
