@ Stacie11 wrote:Hi I filed my husbands taxes and his got denied but mine got accepted but we don’t have a log in indentation for his so we don’t know what we did wrong ?
Since you refer to "his" and "mine", did you file the returns using a status of "married filing separately?" If so, did you use the desktop software which can prepare multiple returns, or did you use 2 separate accounts in Online TurboTax? Online TurboTax can only prepare 1 Federal return per account per year. Hopefully, you didn't use the same Online account for both returns. So please explain more about how you prepared and filed the returns.
"His got denied..."
Does that mean there was an efile rejection? If so, what was the rejection error code or message? Or are you saying you don't know what the rejection code/message is because you can't log into somethaing??? Did he not get an email with the reason?
"we don’t have a log in indentation for his so we don't know what we did wrong."
Obviously "indentation" is a typo in that sentence, but even allowing for that I don't know what that means. Does that mean a User ID??? Please explain that more. Again, I hope that doesn't mean you prepared 2 online returns in the same account.
Turbo tax said I was getting a certain amount on my return, why is it over $300 less than that? How do I get in contact with Turbo Tax about it just to ask?
My amended tax return got rejected, this is what I need to fix, but I can't seem to fix it. It doesn't show my amended return to open it...
F1040X-005-01 - Form 1040-X, 'TaxableIncomeAmt' in 'CorrectNumberOrAmountGrp' must be equal to 'TaxableIncomeAmt' in the amended or superseded return.
Why have I not received my refund
Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?
Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.
To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

Here's how to start investigating:
First, go by what is on your Federal Form 1040, Line 35a. Does the Line 35a match what is showing at the IRS website lookup tool for the amount the IRS actually sent? Did the IRS leave any additional message there at the tool?
IRS "Where's My Refund?"
Some people are confused by a summary page in TurboTax that adds together the Federal and state refunds. Don't go by that. The state refund would come separately. Does an expected state refund help explain the difference you are seeing?
Also, if you chose to pay any fees out of your refund, then the fees and $40 service fee would be subtracted from your refund. But most people's fees are not close to $300, so that likely wouldn't explain all of it, unless you used the more-expensive products and add-ons such as Live Expert Assist, etc.
If the IRS reduced your refund, they may have left a message at the IRS tool mentioned above. If it was the IRS that reduced your refund, they should send you a letter in about 3 weeks or so explaining why.
FAQ: Why's my refund lower than the amount shown in TurboTax?
Please provide guidance to fix your error of not being able to download and purchase a state form (New Jersey).
I am trying to confirm that a Windows 10 Version of Turbotax is not made for 2025? I will be disappointed if that is the case but if it is. What competitive program would you suggest?

Both TaxAct and H&R Block support Windows 10 for their desktop (installed) programs.
TurboTax does not support Windows 10 for their desktop versions.
Mfj, both over 65. The phase out amount is not calculating correctly. Will there be a fix soon?
Turbo Tax is doing it right. Why do you think it is wrong?
This is a common misunderstanding. If you are both over 65 and in the phaseout amount, the 6% reduction is subtracted from EACH spouse's 6,000 effectively making it 12%.
It is phased out for EACH spouse. Fill out Sch 1-A yourself and see. It's pretty easy. Then why would they even have 2 lines 36a and 36b for spouse on Schedule 1-A? And the max for Joint is 250,000 and not double for Single (350,000).
