When I asked 3 different ppl at h&r block about the 7202 form they had no idea what I was talking about Lol taxes specialist okay. It's also being said online that the irs will be taking longer to get you your refund when this form is with your taxes & to amend later or send as pdf. So idk who's telling the truth. Turbotax please give pol a straight answer your on thin ice with me forsure!

I have downloaded my Federal return to my computer and the 7202 form shows up in PDF format. Please explain why i was charged and then was told that i couldn't e-file and then your system allowed me to e-file with that form? what is going to happen to my tax return?

Is this because the IRS does not allow the form to be eFiled, or because of a shortcoming in the TurboTax software? Others posters are reporting being able to eFile with form 7202 by going to software other than TurboTax.
following this thread ☝️ been a customer at turbo for 3 years. other tax company's are allowing form 7202 to be Efiled.... please update your online software or ill unfortunately with millions of others probably not taking the time to comment and will go somewhere else .... I'm gonna wait a few more days other wise i guess bad business choice turbo tax...

Turbo Tax is the only company Im hearing of thats telling people 7202 cant be efiled. Ive been a loyal customer for many years but switched to Tax Act and efiled with form 7202 with no problem whatsoever. You guys need to fix this or youll be losing a lot of customers.
The 'Experts' keep dodging the direct question:
Is this inability to eFile when a return contains form 7202 because the IRS does not allow the form to be eFiled, or because of a shortcoming in the TurboTax software?
It is a simple question. Re-posting the company's talking point about this is not the same as answering the above question. I guest the refusal to answer IS the answer.
Also, the IRS recommends AGAINST filing a return by printing/mailing. The IRS recommends e-Filing. So, the Intuit / TurboTax position is that we must go against IRS recommendations -- simply because Intuit cannot (or will not) come up with a solution to allow returns to be eFiled if they contain form 7202.
It CAN be done -- because other companies are doing it with their tax software.
Get your act together Intuit.

Unacceptable that TurboTax hasn't figured out how to do this. Have used them since 1999 but this is the last year.
When Is Intuit going to fix this? Mailing in a return is not a viable - or timely - option anymore. My tax return is 200 pages ....
Since you wish to e-file, your best option will be to first e-file without the credit, and then prepare an amended return claiming the credit.

As of 2-19-21, IRS has now provided a "way out" to Intuit:
They are certainly gracious in helping out software providers "if they are unable to attach a PDF of the form". Of course, we know (and IRS knows) that Intuit is able to do it, as it's in their professional product. Nonetheless, even giving the benefit of the doubt that it's hard to pull code from one software into another, this solution from the IRS (converting form 7202 into a text file) could be implemented by a software developer in their sleep, so there is no excuse for any more delay.
It CAN be e-filed. The IRS literally provided instructors for software companies on how to do it!
Turbotax fix this. This is not an IRS issue. You just need to update the software to support this form ASAP!
