Turbo tax is getting too expensive and not up front about costs and fees making the overall experience incredibly frustrating. Not going to file next year with Turbo tax.

I agree!

TT rushes to bill people for year's software around Thanksgiving. The version they send is nothing but last year's program with some changed dates on forms that cannot be used. I just downloaded yet another version 2-27-2022. Why so late? Congress made almost no tax law changes for this year.

Intuit/TurboTax has been around too long and has become "lazy". I will cancel my pre-purchase and look for other software.

When I filed the 2021 return, TurboTax website only presented the "Deluxe Live" version when I filled in my tax information for 2021, whereas I never needed nor used the $60 "Live" service. Plus the State return, I spent more than $170 for the return fee this year. This is outrageous! I will never be a TurboTax user ever again and will tell all people I know to avoid TurboTax from now on.

Since you have already paid, please feel free to contact Customer Support so they can assist you. If you inquire about a refund, you will want to use the keywords billing issues when you call so you get to the right person.

If you had not paid yet, you would have been able to remove TurboTax Live by following the instructions in this Help Article.

Monique, I have already called Customer Service twice. The first time they put me on hold while the agent said that she would find someone from Billing to see what they could do. I was put on hold for more than half an hour with no one to talk to. I eventually hung up. When I called Customer Service again, I spent another 30 minutes explaining my issue, and the agent said that she was new to Intuit and not familiar with the different products and options. She also said that the only solution she knew was to have me dispute the charge with my credit card company. I am both disappointed in how TurboTax dishonestly presents only the most expensive products on its Online interface, and discouraged by the incompetency of TurboTax's Customer Service.

They are removing their phone number as fast as I put it up. Number is 800-446-8848. If they remove number, simply Google the number.

I have submitted my refund request that the $60 "Live" service fee be returned to me, since I never needed the "Live" service, and I didn't use it. I hope Turbotax will honor my request. Thanks again.

What I do not like is the manner in which the program funnels users into upgrading to the paid version.  The US Government pays a fee for the free tax service/program such that it markets us to the Tax Industry.  The Free File program merely serves to refer us to business  where we get processed like sheep to slaughter.
