Hi , after installation of TurboTax 2019 , while activating the license, i got the error "The license code you entered is not valid. Error code: 605"

what does error code 605 means ?

This didn't help.

I called TurboTax customer case and they confirmed that error 605 is for canceled license  and i am checking on that.

You can call TurboTax and speak with an agent.  TurboTax customer service/support does not have a single phone number but has many different phone numbers based on the type of platform used.  So that we can direct your call to the best person/department to help you:

  1. Click on this link:  https://support.turbotax.intuit.com/contact/
  2. Select your TurboTax platform.  
  3. Ask your question / state your problem.  Do NOT use the word "refund' or you will get a phone number for tax refunds.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. On the next screen, choose the Call option and follow the instructions.  You will be given the approximate wait time.  

You'll get a toll-free number to a TurboTax expert who is specially-trained to handle your particular issue.

I am suddenly getting this same error code on Turbotax for Business 2019. Mind you I used it to file several returns last year with no problems. I went to pull it up this year so I could run last year & this year's returns side by side. I thought nothing when 2019 asked to update itself but after doing so it asked for the license code. I had a hell of a time tracking it down from a year ago but when I found my purchase receipt & the code, TT is suddenly spitting out this error. Why would Intuit cause software that was working to suddenly crash? The more I think about it, the more this seems like extortion. Is Intuit trying to make me pay twice for its product? And then down the road, maybe a third and 4th time. I'm pretty sure this is illegal. The California Attorney General will probably have a field day with this one. Intuit needs to fix this. Yesterday.

Yes, I did. I removed it, restarted TT and I am still getting the same 605 error.

In addition, I also disabled my antivirus software as mentioned elsewhere. I still got the 605.

And. before I found my license key, I spent over an hour on hold getting through to the Intuit support #. I did finally get to talk with someone. She told me that because I didn't buy TT directly from Intuit, that they could not help me and then hung up.

How is this possible to have used license code from Jan 2021 to May 2021 without any issues.  I've filed returned, and now going back in to look at something in the application, I'm locked out.  The application updated before opening without giving me a choice to apply any new program updates.  Now, it requires activation code and does NOT accept my activation that came with my purchase.  VERY UPSETTING as is the fact there is no known way to contact TurbTax/Intuit Support.  It all just leads me back to this community board where we get to complain versus resolve our issues that points to Intuit's doing.

A company the size of Intuit with the number of product users it has should at minimum have a Support email system available 24/7 even if they only reply Monday through Friday or take 3 business days to respond. 

 

This call to action of speak to support on Monday is equivalent to saying wait until you are too busy at your work during your business hours (and therefore can't do anything) to fix Intuit's problem.  It is as maddening as Intuit locking me out of my up and running purchased desktop program!
