paying for e-file

Why must I pay $24 to e-file when I already paid for your software?

If you used desktop software there is a fee to e-file the state return.  You got the software to prepare the state return but if you want to avoid the state e-file fee, then print, sign, and mail the state instead of efiling it.

paying for e-file

My problem is that when I try to pay for my state tax e-file, I get the following message on my screen, "Hmm... it looks like we’ve hit a slight snag
Please try again or check back in a bit."

I have now reset my password 3 times in the past hour, I can't get signed on to pay the e-file fee. I continue to get the, "Hmm... it looks like we’ve hit a slight snag
Please try again or check back in a bit." message. What else need I do?

It sounds like you are in a reset password loop. Before you run the account recovery tool below, make sure you're logged out completely of all Intuit accounts including the one you're asking this question from. Clear your browser, internet cookies, cache, close the browser and re-open it. You can also try using a different browser.

@JeanneLO Will this also be the case if using Turbo Tax software that is downloaded onto my computer (vs. logging into the website)?
