REVIEW REFUND METHOD
My Capital One N.A. interest is not showing up as a 1099 int on my interstate form
Hi, My review says that Box 14a cannot be more than my gross distribution for all of my four retirement accounts.
All four of them say that and I cannot file my taxes.. For example for my TIAA 403 B account, my gross distribution is 6,000.00 and my box 14a is 600.00.
There is no problem so why does turbo tax do this??? It happens with all my 403B rollovers.
@ATCQEddey Is box 16 for state distribution a 0 (zero) on the form 1099-R? If so, enter the amount from box 1 into box 16.
This will correct the error and allow you to e-file the tax return. The state distribution does NOT flow to the state tax return.
I’m having trouble logging in to my old account to access my W2’s I have a new cell phone different from the one on that account also I forgot my password.
Your W-2's are not there. TurboTax does not have copies or images of your W-2's. The worksheets that are part of the pdf of your tax returns will show the W-2 information, but there are no copies of the actual W-2's. If you want a copy of a W-2, ask the employer.
You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Start a 2025 return online and enter some personal information so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.
Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax? If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.
You can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $30, an actual copy of your tax return.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !
EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.
In order to transfer a past year return to the new return you need the tax file
NOTE: TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years. Returns older than seven years are purged.

Know one can know since everyone's situation is different. However, you could get an estimate using TaxCaster, a Tax Refund Calculator and answering a few questions there. Read the "Terms of Service."

How can I change my direct deposit account before my refund is sent?
If you e-filed:
Banking information for direct deposit is wrong or closed
If you entered incorrect banking information for your refund, you can change it if your return is rejected. If it is accepted, however, it is too late to change it. The bank will reject the refund and send it back to the IRS.
You may get this notice— a cp53a notice
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/understanding-your-cp53a-notice
If you take NO action—-the IRS will freeze your refund for at least six weeks and then mail you a check.
If your refund is sent back to the IRS—- make certain that the address you entered on your Form 1040 is correct. And…open all mail, even if it looks like junk mail.
And……if you choose “refund processing” or the “5 day early” offer, those involve a third party bank; sadly, you will have a lot of additional aggravation in tracking down your refund and getting a check.
When will the amended returns be available I was told the other day the 25th
The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 federal tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 03/04/2026
Forms and schedules availability website - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
