You must have signed up for an Advantage subscription where the software is sent to you each November for the coming tax year.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for canceling an Advantage subscription - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/downgrading/help/how-do-i-cancel-my-turbotax-advantage-subscriptio...

We don't have access to accounts in this PUBLIC forum.   Call Customer Support for help:

You probably have an auto charge you did authorize thru an "Advantage" account.  Notifications were sent out about that purchase ~1month before the charge....but if you changed your email address, or if your spam setting was set high, you might have missed it.   IF you don't want that charge to occur again next year, you need to log into your Advantage account and delete your selection:

But if you DID want the TurboTax download program, it's waiting in your Advantage download area....make sure you update your profile and email address (if it's changed).

I was charged on my bank account $117.70 unauthorized

Intuit charged $119 on my credit card but I did not authorized any payment

Were the fees supposed to come out of your refund?  Sounds like the IRS is taking too long to send your refund or reduced it. See What if the IRS reduces your refund or delays it.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/payments/help/what-if-my-federal-refund-isn-t-enough-to-cover-my-t...

Then when the IRS does send your refund they won't take the fees out again.

And, Why you got charged,
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-was-my-bank-account-auto-debited-for-tur...

You should have received about 4 emails asking for the fees. If you don't pay they will debit your account. You had to agree to it.

Shame on you all who work for this corrupt company called intuit!

I dont have an advanced membership, neither do I have any automatic charges!

I qualify for the free edition, but my credit card was still charged for the premium version!

AND, I GUESS WHAT; I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THIS CHARGE! PERIOD!

YOU GUYS JUST CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION LIKE A CHEAP SALESMAN!

NOW I AM TRYING HARD TO GET MY MONEY BACK, BUT THIS COMPANY IS SO BAD LIKE A CHEAP THIEF!

Intuit charged $119 on my credit card but I did not authorized any payment

For those who are having the same problem with this company: I filed a complaint against Intuit with Better Business Bureau (BBB) and received their response from the Intiuit's office of the president, which is below,

_______

You logged into TurboTax Online and completed your federal and state tax returns and then entered your credit card information to complete perpetration and moved on to the efile or print screen.  TurboTax requires you to enter credit card information each time you use the software and will not remember your previous entries.  Your then logged off of the TurboTax Online Site and logged into the IRS website and efiled your return from the IRS Free File site.

Had you called us before you entered and paid with your credit card or stopped using the TurboTax Online without entering your credit card information this would have been fine.  However your entered your Credit Card information to the non-refundable product and approved the charges.  Therefore the charges are valid. and we will not be refunding.  The IRS Free File Alliance managed by TurboTax software found on the IRS website does not have a place or the ability to enter credit card information.

You can reach me at (phone#: 520-nine-0-one-3280) Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM Arizona time or at OfficeofthePresident [at] Intuit [dot] com . If I am unavailable, one of my colleagues will be available to assist you. Thank you again for reaching out.

Respectfully,

Carol

In summary I am fooled and money is gone:

1- entering your credit card information on TurboTax website means you immediately approve the charges

2- TurboTax Online product is excluded from 60-day money back guarantee, even though request page clearly has Online product as an option. Intuit policies are designed to lock your money in.

You can reach the presidents office through the above phone number (520-nine-zero-one-3280) or this email: OfficeofthePresident [at] Intuit [dot] com

My final response to them is below:

Any respectable business should be able to refund an unsatisfied customer's money in any case, period! Saying that the online TurboTax product is out of the 60-day money-back guarantee is equivalently nonsense like a cheap shop denying your refund request by telling you that the money-safe is locked and they cant get your money out of it.

Just entering my card details on your website should not mean that I have approved the payment.

Intuit is well known with their hideous tactics for long time: https://www.propublica.org/article/turbotax-just-tricked-you-into-paying-to-file-your-taxes

Never ever will pay you for my tax preps and will surely delete my Credit Karma account soon!

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees paid from the federal tax refund, then you did authorize the payment if the tax refund was reduced or delayed.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for payment of the account fees - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-was-my-bank-account-auto-debited-for-tur...

If you have an active ADVANTAGE account you DID authorize the charge ... it is your responsibility to cancel the account ... you should have gotten a reminder email recently letting you know this was going to happen.

TurboTax support FAQ for cancelling an Advantage subscription - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/downgrading/help/how-do-i-cancel-my-turbotax-advantage-subscriptio...

To cancel your subscription, simply remove all products in your TurboTax Advantage account:

  1. Sign in to TurboTax Advantage.
  2. Select TurboTax Advantage on the right side of your screen.
    • If you only see Sign up now, your subscription is already canceled or you're in the wrong account. Use our Account Recovery tool to get a list of all your TurboTax accounts, then sign in under the right account.
  3. Select Remove product under each product listed
  4. Once all products have been removed, you'll see the Sign up now button. This means your subscription has been canceled.

Tip: If you missed the cancelation deadline for this year's TurboTax product, simply wait until you receive your CD or download, then submit an online refund request within 60 days of receiving your product.
