I want to talk to a TurboTax human.
@Brandonmwitte Use this link to contact Support --> https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/what-is-the-turbotax-phone-number/00/25632
@Brandonmwitte TurboTax does not e-file your return. The user must e-file by going through all of the steps in the FILE section to click a big orange button that says "Transmit my Returns Now." That is the only way your return gets e-filed. The software does not click that button for you. After you click the button then you have to watch your emails.
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
If you are not sure if you clicked the button to file, check your e-file status:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
If it says "accepted" then all you need to do is wait for the IRS to process your tax return.
If it says "rejected" then you need to fix the reason for the rejection and try to e-file it again, or if it is an "un-fixable" rejection like a duplicate Social Security number, you have to print, sign and mail the return. Rejections come from the IRS system--not from TurboTax. If your return was rejected, tell us what the rejection email said so we know how to help.
If the return was accepted then you can track your refund on the IRS site:
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

This is ridiculous. I understand COVID makes things more difficult. I filed my tax return by mail in March and have received nothing back. I can't talk to a live person at the IRS or Turbotax. There is a non-stop loop or robots at Turbotax who can't help!
Sorry the IRS has limited staff due to Covid-19. They just started opening the mail in June that's been stacking up. Back in March the IRS closed their processing centers and stopped processing mailed tax returns. An IRS spokesperson recently said that they have about 11 million pieces of unopened mail. So you have to keep waiting.

Is it showing up at IRS Where's my refund yet?
Make sure you are using the refund amount from your actual federal tax return and not the combined amount Turbo Tax showed you at the end. That was for federal and state combined.
I need help refining my taxes and I don’t want to pay to talk to a human how can I get back into my taxes to change info
Can I talk to someone I need to redo my taxes and delete some info so it won’t be rejected by the irs
We cannot tell from your post whether you are using a paid version of the software. If you are using the Free Edition you do not have access to phone support. You say your return is being rejected but you do not tell us why. You may not need to "re-do" your tax return. What information do you think you need to delete? Let's figure that out first:
Some rejected returns can be fixed and re-filed. Some have “un-fixable” reasons for the rejection and have to be mailed instead.
You received a rejection email that we cannot see. Please tell us word for word what it says so we know how to help you. Or even copy and paste the email message.
If you used the IRS non-filer site to get a stimulus check, you will now get a “duplicate SSN” rejection. We are seeing people who did not notice or ignored the warning on that site about using it if they would be filing a tax return.
I file with y'all for my taxes and I received my federal but now they saying I didn't be file my state refund I need my money now
@Mally40 Check to see what it says in your account. Was your state return rejected--or never filed? If it was not filed you can still file it.
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?
Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”
Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities, There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.
STATE RETURN
Make sure your state return was accepted: https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
To track your state refund:

Note: If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself. TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.

Did you e-file your state tax return and was it accepted?
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
Sign onto your TurboTax online account and the status of the state tax return will be displayed - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
If the status is Accepted then the state tax return was e-filed.
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
If the status is anything other than Accepted, the state tax return was not e-filed. If you did not print and mail the state tax return it was never filed.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for e-filing a state tax return after the federal tax return was e-filed - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/e-file/help/how-do-i-e-file-my-state-after-i-already-filed-my-fede...

Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.
To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
