To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

If you can't get the side menus to open up to access the prior year..... You need to start entering some basic Personal Info in 2021 for the side menu to open up. Just continue a little ways into 2021.

If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online. So you need to make and keep your own backups.

@mrgarman1974 Are you using a full PC or Mac?   You cannot download the desktop software to any sort of mobile device.

First off - the url provided takes me to a link that does everything EXCEPT give me the ability to purchase and download the software - it defaults to 2022 with no way to fix or change the year.

Secondly - i cannot find a method that isn't a waste of time and defaults to the incorrect year. 

Lastly - how the **bleep** are you supposed to contact someone to get help?

@rockerdown It sounds like you are going to the site for online software by mistake instead of the site for the prior year CD/download software.

Online preparation and e-filing for 2019 and 2020 and 2021 is permanently closed.

To file a return for a prior tax year

 If you need to prepare a return for 2019, 2020 or 2021 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)

You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

Note:  The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac.  It cannot be used on a mobile device.

Sorry, but the Live tax expert help is only available for the current tax returns that are being prepared for tax year 2022-- the tax year that just ended.  (No one is preparing a 2023 return.  That will happen next year when 2023 is over.  )  They do not prepare returns for past years, or help with them.  Only a 2022 return can be prepared using online TurboTax.

The other past years you mentioned can be prepared using the do-it-yourself tax software that you download to a full PC or Mac.  Those returns have to be filed by mail.  They cannot be e-filed.  

If you do not want to/cannot prepare your own 2020 or 2021 returns you may want to seek local paid tax help.

Each tax year has to be filed separately using the forms for the specific tax year.  They cannot be combined in any way--do not even put them in the same envelope when you mail them.

If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline.  If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.

I purchased a 2020 turbotax disc. I expected it to     automatically download when I put the disc into my computer. The system keeps opening turbotax webb site. 

and will not let me download my disc. What am I doing improperly?
