Yep both federal and state were accepted! I haven't made any changes to my return since over a month ago when I tried to submit the last time so whatever TurboTax did it looks like its fixed now!
With the April 4th fix, will TT automatically generate the special statement for joint occupancy? I just had TT revisit my return and there's no statement included in the pdf for review. Do I need to paper file and include the statement?
I efiled and then did an amendment and added the statement - it showed no change in tax liability. I chose to send it US Mail certified, but may not be needed. The amendment requires a lot less paper.
@Slhpete was your e-file accepted without the special statement?
I did it before the joint occupancy issue was supposedly resolved and ended up removing all references to joint occupancy and then it was accepted. I did read that someone said theirs was accepted after the 4/4 date, but it did not apply to me. This sure caused a lot of issues, but I felt getting my full refund back quickly was worth filing the amendment with an updated 5695 form and statement after the fact.
Look back a few posts rvdinh refiled yesterday with no changes and it was accepted. Good luck!
Mine was accepted this afternoon within about a half hour of filing. Made no changes to my original return (married filing separately, joint occupancy and split the cost of a heat pump), although I did delete form 5695, cleared my cache/cookies and redid it, just to be on the safe side.
We are facing the same issue, and this is still not resolved as of April 7. It seems to be a major issue in the software but we can not seem to get a real answer, the only feedbackk recieved has been to file by mail. So why pay for the software? Very disappointed with TurboTax this year.
Are you sure your return wasn't rejected for another reason?
Here's how you can fix it:
Sign in to your account and select the Fix my return button. Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection.
Note: Not all rejections will have explicit guides to fix the information. You’ll need to navigate to the program area to address the cause of the rejection.
Time-saving Tip: If what you originally entered is correct, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, a dependent that's already been claimed, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return. This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.
Additional reject instruction here.
I refiled Saturday. Didn't make any changes. It was accepted.
