I was finally able to get it working. You have to use chrome, login to Edward Jones account and select the option to remember this device. Now you can go to the TurboTax app and try to import the forms from Edward Jones. It is little odd but it seems the are looking for cookies for Chrome browser to fetch the data. If you use edge or other browser it doesn't work, at least it did not work for me. Kinda sucks because Google steals so much of our data and TurboTax needs that kind of work around.
Please see the work around in this thread here to assist with solving your issue. If you are using the Download/Desktop version, you will need to make sure you have updated your software. To manually update for Windows, please see the Help Article here. For Mac, please see this Help Article.
Yes thank you. The critical piece of info is you have to sign in to Edward Jones via chrome and tell Chrome to remember your device and then (at least in my case) while online with Ed Jones, launch TT via chrome to initiate the import. (Just switching between chrome and edge did not solve the problem.)
Geez what BS. And TT tech support was a total waste of time
Same problem. Unable to import from Edward Jones into TurboTax2022 Premier for windows. No problem importing other data but Edward Jones not working. User name and password are definitely correct. Logged into account through browser before attempting in TurboTax.
Please fix!
Edward Jones says it is a known issue with the latest TurboTax. Is it being worked on??
Your "workaround thread" takes us back to this same page. An endless loop. TT needs to acknowledge the problem and FIX it. I can't believe the hours I've wasted on idiotic "tech support". And stop providing links to useless boilerplate verbiage about updating the software. As you know, desktop TT won't even launch without downloading the latest updates.
I was able to import my Edward Jones 1099 using Chrome as my browser. I contacted Edward Jones support and they confirmed that the 1099 import issue using Microsoft Edge is a known problem by Intuit and that they are supposed to be working on a fix.
The problem has not yet been resolved. So frustrating.
Same problem as below. Cannot import my Edward Jones info. User ID and password incorrect.
Please see the workaround offered in this thread.
I used suggestions on this community and this is what worked for me:
Use Chrome to log in to Edward Jones.
Change password to 10 letters and 1 number.
Check remember this device.
Leave Edward Jones open and open Turbo Tax. Used my ID and new password.
At last, I was able to import data!!
This is the first year I've had this problem and TT needs to get something fixed!!
Been there!! See my post a few seconds ago under watergardener. Good luck.
I was finally able to import jumping through the Chrome hoops reported earlier. However, I just tested importing via MS Edge and this time it worked. It's possible TT has fixed the problem - at least for the desktop versions. (My theory is that TT has enhanced security verification for importing from third parties -- they apparently vary from one institution to another -- and this was just fixed for Ed Jones via MS Edge. Just a theory.) Will be watching to see if the problem persists for other users.
Are you using TT Premier? for MAC?
Yes TT Tech Support is useless...
Not reading through miles long threads [TLDR]
