If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
And....if you began to work on a 2023 return ("return i have started submitting for 2023") you have to switch to the downloaded desktop software and use it on a full PC or Mac--not any kind of mobile device. Online preparation and e-fling are now permanently closed for 2023. Your return has to be filed by mail when you have it ready.
Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2023 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.
If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the 2023 desktop software.

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late. If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe. Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

If you started your 2023 tax return with TurboTax, it will be available for online filing until Oct 31 at 9PM PST.
@DoninGA Thanks, Don! I was not aware that users could continue working online until 10-31 if their return was already started. To clarify----they still need to file by mail, right?
Looks like e-file is available. I just went through all 3 steps in the File section for an online return and the Transmit my returns now button is active for e-filing.
@DoninGA Thanks again, Don! I must have missed the memo on that----just got home from hospital recently.
Glad it saves some users the aggravation of switching.
What about from the Desktop program? How would they know you started before?
