The problem is NOBODY at Intuit had ANY idea how to resolve this problem.

I got a run around to multiple people, shared my desktop, spend 20-30 minutes on average with 4 people, to no avail.

Goodbye Turbo Tax, your product is unreliable and people have no idea how to resolve it, yet acknowledged they were familiar with the problem.

The hack - type in "123 Main Street"

Oops. We’re having a little trouble processing your billing information. Please select "contact us" from the help panel to speak with an expert to assist you

This is a problem with the Turbotax software, and lack of customer support agents who have any idea on how to resolve.

The hack is to type in 123 main street.

Clearly not a software program I would ever use again!

My guess the change had to do with the stimulus credit  which was not a TT error  ... either what you entered is incorrect  OR  the IRS sent the payment but it was never cashed.

Answering No on the question asking if you received a 3rd stimulus payment means you told TurboTax that you did not receive any payments.

In that case, TurboTax would add an amount on line 30 Form 1040 because you said you never received any stimulus money  but if the IRS disagrees they would remove the credit amount.

So... if you never received a stimulus deposit or check—and the IRS records show  they paid you—then you should ask the IRS to trace your payment.  Many payments were sent and not cashed so a trace is the only option available to you.  Some were sent on debit cards that looked like junk mail and many folks thru them  in the trash.    If the payment was never cashed ONLY THEN can you send in an amended return to claim the credit and attach the findings letter with the 1040X form.

The fastest way to initiate a trace is to contact the IRS by calling us at 800-919-9835.

You can also complete Form 3911:

  • Write "EIP3" on the top of the form to identify the payment you want to trace.
  • Complete the form answering all refund questions as they relate to your Economic Impact Payment.
  • When completing item 7 under Section 1:
    • Check the box for "Individual" as the Type of return
    • Enter "2021" as the Tax Period
    • Do not write anything for the Date Filed
  • Sign the form. If you file married filing jointly, both spouses must sign the form.

You will generally receive a response 6 weeks after we receive your request for a payment trace, but there may be delays due to limited staffing.

Not sure why, possibly my error, see two credit card payments for adding PA state tax program of $38.02. Had some difficulty when going thru the required info, came back a second time and asked for the same CC info. Now see the two emails and charges to my Discover card. One should be cancelled. Thank you [PII removed].

Was able to reach a live person today, apparently the "duplicate" charge is that some states charge a fee to submit electronically, amazing in this day and age! Next year will mail hard copy to PA, no charge that way!

This "hack" of using 123 main street worked for me too. Very very strange Turbo Tax... I may also need to look elsewhere... I've been using this service for a number of year and I do not know why it took me a month to resolve this issue after a case was opened and 5 screenshots were done.

Same here, I have used the same card for the last few years and lived at same address last 5 years. Card CS says no issue. It is on Turbo side.  I did everything they said, changed browser, cleared cookies, cache... nothing. Even downloaded app on my phone and NOTHING works except withholding from refund... what a racket. lol
