It's probably taking about the Turbo Tax fees. How did you pay the fees? Or tell it you want to pay the tax due by check, so it will print out a voucher you can throw away. You don't have to tell it you already paid. Unless you made a payment with an extension or estimated payments.
How to mail a return from the Online version
Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

How do I switch from "E-File" to "File by Mail" in TurboTax Online?
No. When I tried to e-file the IRS charged my credit card immediately for the taxes due and I have a record of the charge for the amount due on my credit card statement---even though the feds continue to reject my return (when I try to e-file)! Turbotax also charged the filing fee for the federal return even though the return wasn't accepted and even though on their own website it says your card will not be charged unless the return is accepted (false advertising). In my mind the feds should not have taken payment unless they accepted the return and Intuit should not have billed me for the federal return because it was not accepted. At this point I am giving up on e-filing because I am going around in circles with Turbotax (they can't figure it out) but I am wondering if I should include a letter to the IRS saying I already paid by credit card so they aren't looking for a check with the return?
Check your account at the IRS and make sure your payment was posted.
Where does it say you will not be charged unless it was accepted? That's probably for the tax due. The Online Turbo Tax fees are to prepare the return whether you efile or print and mail. You have to pay before you efile or print. Even if you don't file at all.
The payment is not posted at the IRS website. Not sure what all of this means. Credit card shows the charge but not showing at the IRS!
Maybe that is just a pending charge and will drop off since your return didn't go through.

Your right. I just checked and the IRS charge dropped off. So I will just print out my federal return and send in the check. Thanks for your help! I hate having to do a paper return because I know the IRS is totally backed up so the return may not be processed for a year or two which can also affect my social security earnings record until it's processed.
