Get your taxes done using TurboTax
No. When I tried to e-file the IRS charged my credit card immediately for the taxes due and I have a record of the charge for the amount due on my credit card statement---even though the feds continue to reject my return (when I try to e-file)! Turbotax also charged the filing fee for the federal return even though the return wasn't accepted and even though on their own website it says your card will not be charged unless the return is accepted (false advertising). In my mind the feds should not have taken payment unless they accepted the return and Intuit should not have billed me for the federal return because it was not accepted. At this point I am giving up on e-filing because I am going around in circles with Turbotax (they can't figure it out) but I am wondering if I should include a letter to the IRS saying I already paid by credit card so they aren't looking for a check with the return?
