In both "Import Summary" and "Wages and Salary", the error I'm getting says, "Hmm it looks like we've hit a snag...We recommend you revisit the last topic you were working on to make sure all your info's correct".
I don't know what more to fix in the personal info topic, which was the last topic i was working on! I've been using Turbo Tax (download) for years and have never had trouble entering info. It updated as soon as I opened it, and I was able to visit all of the income topics except entering my income from my w2 forms.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
One thing you might want to try is logging out of TurboTax. Bring up a Chrome screen to Clear Cookies and Cache. The easiest way to do this is to click on the 3 dots at the top right of the Chrome screen, click on clear browsing data, have the time range show all time and the checkmarks in the 3 boxes immediately below.
Once that process is complete, log back in to TurboTax and see if that clears the issue. If it does not and you have the paper copies of what you are trying to import I suggest you enter manually to be certain that all information is entered.
Thank you...I'm using the downloaded version of TurboTax, not online. I'm not sure how to log out of the downloaded version. When I clicked the TurboTax icon to open the program, it said it had updates and it completed the updates. Should I start a "new" return?
No, now that it has updated you should re-start the return that you were working on and see if your errors are gone.
@RobertB4444 @JosephS1 Thank you both, but I have exited my downloaded copy of TurboTax by clicking File-->Exit and reopened my "started" my return, continuing where I left off 3 times now and I'm still getting the same error message. I've used TurboTax for at least 10 years now and have never come across this issue of not being able to enter my income from a W2.
If you have not cleared Cache as suggested by @JosephS1 then log out, and follow the link below to clear the Cache:
Once you clear Cache, log into your TurboTax account and continue your return preparation.
If you want to manually enter your W-2 info, we make it easy for you.

Thank you @HopeS ...I'm not sure I'm understanding why I need to clear my cache when I'm working on a downloaded copy of TurboTax. I'm not using the online version.
I will restart my computer and look at the link you provided about how to manually add my W2 information.
I would love it if someone could explain to my why this year is different. I have never had trouble with entering my W2 info on the downloaded version before.
@rosebudztwinz Not sure if this will fix your particular situation, but it has helped others using the desktop editions.
Assuming that you are using a Windows operating system -
Save your tax return. Close the TurboTax program
Right click on the TurboTax icon
Click on Properties
Click on the Compatibility tab
Check the box Run the program as an administrator
Click on Apply and on OK
Start the TurboTax program again and see if the problem persists.
@DoninGA Thank you...I restarted my computer and followed the steps you provided to "run as administrator". Unfortunately that didn't help. I'm still given the above error.
