Your 2019 AGI is on your 2019 1040 form. Line 8b on Form 1040 and 1040-SR (for tax year 2019). If your 2019 return was processed late (after October 2020) use a Zero (0) for your 2019 AGI.
The IRS requires your 2019 AGI to verify your identity for e-filing. If you're paper-filing your return, you won't need your AGI because those are manually processed.
There are a few places you can get your 2019 AGI:
If you didn't file a 2019 federal tax return (or you haven't filed one yet), enter 0 as your AGI.
Married Filing Separately in 2019 but filing jointly in 2020?
Filed jointly in 2019 but are Married Filing Separately in 2020?
You won't find your AGI on your W-2 or 1099 form because those forms don't take into account over a dozen above-the-line deductions that go into calculating your AGI.

I filed my 2019 taxes via mail. Consequently, the IRS does not have an electronic record of my AGI. Is there is a way to fix this on my 2020 return which I am trying to e-file. Your directions on how to fix this are really so incomplete so as to be useless. I can always file by mail, but would like to file electronically. Is that possible this yaer since I filed by mail last year? Hopefully you can give me a clear answer.

Since you filed the 2019 tax return by mail there is a good possibility that the IRS does not have your 2019 AGI in their database for your name and Social Security number.
Enter a 0 (zero) for the 2019 AGI and e-file the tax return again.
My 2019 AGI is correct but I filed by mail in 2020. Consequently, the IRS does not have the 2019 AGI eletronically. How can I overcome that so I can file 2020 electronically?
I checked with IRS to get a transcript of 2019 Federal Return to access AGI, but when I reviewed the years available, 2019 is not available. Last year available is 2018. I know a return was processed as I have a copy from Turbo Tax for 2019 and IRS cashed my check. My understanding is that there may be millions of tax returns that have not been processed for 2019 because of the pandemic, but that doesn't help me trying to file electronically. If the IRS is that far behind, my only option seems to be to change filling from e-file to mail.
If you cannot get past the AGI issue, then filing by mail is the only other option. You said you used TurboTax for 2019 and if so the AGI should have transferred automatically. However, if you have to print, sign and mail the return it is still a viable option.
Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) e-file rejections
Customers with amended, rejected or incomplete TY19 returns may see Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) errors in our system causing e-file rejections. In these situations, the AGI from the amended, rejected or incomplete return is pulled into the current year return. We are working on a fix for this issue.

" If your 2019 return was processed late (after October 2020) use a Zero (0) for your 2019 AGI."
This worked for me - thank you so much! I had my 'real' AGI and verified it multiple times but entering 0 is what I needed to do because of the late 2019 processing. A rather frustrating solution when I can even log into the IRS account and 'verify' the real AGI. It's apparently not what's in *this* database!
Thanks again!
