Hi,
I have paid for the full service self-employed tax return option thus year. When I tried to access my tax return today, I had no documents in my account.
I have accessed my documents before so I know its there but now there is nothing.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax? If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

To get a copy of your previously filed returns prepared with online TurboTax https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1900748-how-do-i-get-a-copy-of-a-return-i-filed-in-turbotax-online

I know it's the same account as a filed with because the emails are the same. Just all the documents are gone. I tried to talk to an expert but the messages are disappearing. I have used multiple computers and browsers. Nothing shows up under the "Get a copy of your previously filed returns" but I know it was there before.
I am having the same problem.
Did you even TRY the recovery tool? You can have multiple accounts under the same email address. Try the tool even if you think you know you do not have multiple accounts.
@Jroberts1 ...even if you are in the exact same account, many people go to the wrong place to get the files:
For Online users only:
Don't use any FAQ directions that tell you to click on "Documents" in the left-side of the screen.
i.e.....DON'T click on Documents in the left screen ......there's one FAQ out there that can really be misleading for some TTX users, since many users have nothing at all in that section

I was having a hard time figuring out how to do this also. However, if you search in the search bar "how do I print my return" it will offer for you to print your 2019 tax return. I was able to download and print that way.
I am trying to get my 2019 tax file in order to file a return. I could not because I was missing my IRS PIN number and could not figure out how to get one. So I followed these directions and it still does not let me download the file.
Please help
To file a 2019 return you will need to purchase and install the 2019 desktop version. Then download your taxfile and open it in the desktop version. If the 2019 taxfile is empty, you will have to enter your information manually to file 2019. If you already paid for the online version, you might need to call TurboTax to get help with installing the desktop version.
User name in 2019 was [email address removed].
In 2020 it was wfowks, I think. I downloaded the 2020 software and it wont transfer my 2019 info.
If you do not see your 2019 tax return data, it might be in a different TurboTax account. Go here to see how many accounts you may have, one of them should have the return you're looking for and that will be the account you'll want to use for your 2020 tax return.
I cant access any of my 2019 tax information
Follow the instructions in the TurboTax FAQ here to access your prior year return. You can also get a copy of your tax return by ordering a free tax return transcript online or by mail from the IRS. You can also pay the IRS $50 for an exact copy of your return.
