Are you asking how to delete a linked TurboTax account that you have using a different username? If this is what you are referring to, you can not delete an old (or new) TurboTax account.
You can start using only one account and use that account every year. Having a single TurboTax account that you use for everything is the best way to go.
If this is not what you are referring to, could you respond back here so that we can properly assist you?
Hi, no I am referring to a Link to my stock investment account. I created a link, but it did not import my tax forms, so I tried again and now have 2 links to the same account. And there is no delete or remove option on the Linked Accounts page. I am afraid it will import forms twice when tax forms become available. Thank you, Paul
Please follow the instructions here to delete something that was imported into Turbo Tax you do not want to keep.
Please let us know if we can further assist you. @paulperugini-com
Hi, it is the Online version. Under Documents then Linked Accounts.
We'll save you time on your taxes by automatically importing tax forms from these accounts as soon as they're available.
The page has my linked accounts, but no ability to remove one of them. I have tried hovering my mouse looking for a delete or edit option, there just is not any option. I tried in Chrome and Edge.
Please reach out to TurboTax Customer Support as your issue would be best resolved with one-on-one support.
What is the TurboTax phone number?
The customer support number does not reach a person -- it is only another way of getting the same incorrect information related to this topic.
I can confirm that the same security problem exists on my Turbotax Online. Specifically, going to Documents you can reach a Linked Accounts tab that shows a list of linked accounts. However, the instructions on that page are incorrect since there is no way to manipulate items on the list. If Turbotax does not fix this security problem, it could end up being sued by hundreds of thousands of users if the credentials stored with the list of linked accounts is compromised in a security breach. Since we are talking about credentials to the financial accounts of Intuit customers, such a class action suit could be big enough to bankrupt Intuit in the worst case scenario (together with the loss of billions of dollars by Intuit customers). It is really astounding that Intuit does not want to fix this software problem which many users have pointed out in 2023 and 2024.
I should add, if any Turbotax employees read this thread, please forward it to your the Intuit Security Team: It really is a major security flaw. For the best solution, the software should not automatically create a persistent link to a financial account after importing 1099 forms but instead make creation of persistent links to financial accounts an option that users can select (in the import interface or security settings).
