So I have always had my taxes done for me at either H&M’s block or a private accountant. I have gone on the TurboTax app to file my taxes on my own, for the first time ever. I am filing with no income. (I also need to note that I don’t have a phone that I can make or receive calls on right now, my bill is past due so I can only use internet to communicate) I completed everything and at the end it told me my state taxes couldn’t be e-filed with no income. So then I clicked to let an expert do it for me and have even gotten to the final stage where it tells me what I will receive and when I enter how I want my return amount dispersed, but it keeps taking me back to a page where is says “A tax prep assistant will call me shortly” (keep in mind My phone can’t receive their call) and shows that the next step is for them to start on my taxes. Every once in a while when I check the app I’m on the screens further down the process and can see my banking info still filled in but I end up back on the screen to eat on their call. I don’t know what to do! Does any body have any insight for me about what’s going on? Please let me know!!

Thank you!! I just talked to the live chat person and I’m not able to get a solution through that. I’m still stuck on the same screen expect every once in a while it takes me back through where I signed my name and put banking info in. It’s all still filled in but then I go back to the same screen going backwards in the process. I need to know that I’ve done everything right and have a solution to this.
If you selected to have the tax specialist do the return, they will need to speak with you prior to beginning the return.
Okay. Well I had already completed all the info when I started doing it on my own at first. When it wouldn’t let me finalize it because it said my state won’t allow efile for the state without an income. That’s when I clicked on it for the expert to do it for me. I even followed the steps to submit necessary documents. The problem is my phone got shut off and the people I get matched with can’t call me. So I’m stuck with all my return information, including banking information, and don’t know what to do from here. I’m sorry that there is so much going on in my situation! I can’t even call a help line since my phone is turned off.
Have you looked into the SmartLook option? The following TurboTax FAQ will suggest ways to contact expert help within the TurboTax app: How do I connect with a tax expert in TurboTax Live?
Smart look does actually sound like a good option for me. I just now saw that option when you mentioned it. However, I can’t directly talk to a tax expert right now, at one point I was connected with someone but they didn’t respond to my messages. Now I am just on a screen that tells me someone will call me in a few minutes. It’s been like that most of the day today. No one can call me because my phone is shut off. Only think I can do is talk on here or the live robot and I can’t get anywhere with the robot. It just tells me my person will be setting up a time to speak with me. I’m literally stuck in the middle of all this.
This is my screen right now.
And it has kept me on this screen for 6 or more hours now.
Follow the instructions in this link here to remove TurboTax Live.
Also, This is the other screen I was talking about that it takes me too every once in a while when I refresh the app.
You can connect with a tax expert for further assistance, by clicking on that question mark at the top right. Please see this TurboTax FAQ for assistance, How do I connect with a tax expert in TurboTax Live?
If that isn't working for you, Please contact TurboTax by phone, What is the TurboTax phone number?
