Sorry, but everything I did was correct (the PIN and the correct prior year, 2020, AGI) AND I know that IRS has processed my wife's return because it was married filing a joint return. Also, I have a 2020 Tax return transcript for my wife downloaded from the IRS online services site on which both my wife and I have accounts. The tax return transcript is only available if IRS has processed the return. I know this because I had filed 2019 by mailing it in and needed a tax return transcript from IRS and it took a year and a half before IRS finally processed the 2019 return so that I could get the transcript.

The IRS may not have your 2020 AGI in their database.
Try entering a 0 (zero) for the 2020 AGI and e-file again.
Mine as well. Same married, filing jointly and request for spouses AGI. Zero works.
I have the same issue as goodleaf. 2021 was rejected twice for AGI issue. I changed to 0 and now waiting. Any other suggestions? Is there a number at Intuit we can call/
It is hard to believe but I followed the advice of several posters and changed AGI to 0 and 34 minutes later........................................holy smokes, the IRS accepted the e file now I am hoping the state does as well!!!
Glad to know that your return has now been accepted; to answer your previous question, you will find the Turbo Tax phone number here @MAVERICK4.
This has frustrated me for two weeks with repeated rejections, went to the hassle of IDMe video conference to get verified, got our IRS transcript and the AGI they have listed matches what I'm entering. Came up with same idea of using zero but that got rejected too. Guess we'll have to snail mail, hope that doesn't mess up efile next year too! Was happy to see that it wasn't just me with this issue! Thanks for posting your experience.
We had the same problem. TurboTax needs to fix this programming issue or, provide customers with correct information/instructions. Entering the amount on line 11 is WRONG. Printing the return and mailing is also NOT ACCEPTABLE. The solution is to enter "0" for spouse's AIG. That worked for us after submitting it 6 times trying to follow TurboTax instructions
I have the same problem. Will you give me the link to the IRS website to obtain my 2020 AGI?
In the meantime, I will try the best answer: zero
Thanks, gary
Be prepared, this is a total goat rope. It took me hours to create IDMe, scan in passport, DL and SSN card to verify, then it didn't "quick" verify didn't work so had to wait a couple days for them to offer a video call to verify. Once done, quickly logged into IRS to see our 2020 transcript, and guess what--the 2020 AGI that IRS shows for us is exactly the number we've been using. We have tried every suggestion, do zero for me (spouse), do zero for hubs, do zero for both, etc. My fastest reject was 23 minutes, hahaha. Very frustrated! Go to this link to start process: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Good luck.
I've now filed 15 times and been rejected 15 times. Have tried every suggestion, zero for me (spouse), zero for hubs, zero for both, etc. Turbo Tax needs to fix this!
@TXGal Sometimes if all of the workarounds do not help. you just have to give it up and file by mail. Some rejections are not fixable. Remember that rejections are coming from the IRS--not TurboTax. When you file by mail you need to attach your W-2's and any 1099's that show tax withheld. Federal and state must be in separate envelopes and go to different addresses. It is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it like certified mail so you will know it was received.
The IRS is woefully understaffed due to Covid and Trump reducing/freezing staffing levels his entire tenure. He was not a fan of the IRS. Facts matter!
I agree with you; here, all of us file and pay our taxes; without IRS staffing, things go south. Sad that Mr. Trump and others in Congress do not support the mission of the IRS.
Exact same circumstances for me. I tried 0 and it worked - so thankful.
I filed in May last year (the 2020 deadline.
