Wisconsin Schedule 1 Issue

Schedule I: _ This form has not been finalized at this time. We are working to get forms ready for filing in Wisconsin. Please check again later. Do not file the return until this form is finalized in the upcoming release of TurboTax/Wisconsin. To receive an update, select Check for Updates from the Online menu to connect to our website.

This is the "REVIEW" in my Wisconsin Tax Filing...…. Filing online and cannot file until this is form "finalized"..... what does this mean...…

A form is "finalized" when it is made available in TurboTax. To make a form available in TurboTax requires the following:

  • First, TurboTax has to get the form from the state.
  • Then, TurboTax has to create an electronic copy of the form and get it approved by the state.
  • Then, TurboTax must code the software need to use the form. This can be made difficult by last-minute changes by the state or the late release of the form.
  • Then TurboTax has to test the software to make sure that it gets the right answers and that nothing broke.
  • And TurboTax has to do this in the middle of the first peak of tax season, when programmers and others are on call for 1,000 other issues.

The state has been slow to release this form to tax software companies and the public. Note that the state did not post its own fill-in version of the form until yesterday (2/4/2020) - see the state forms webpage.

Just keep watching the State Forms Availability page.

When I click on Schedule I it says it is available.  Why am I still getting the message that it is not and that I cannot file my Wisconsin return?

Wisconsin Schedule 1 Issue

Turbotax  shows Wisconsin Schedule I as available, yet the update has not been processed.  You accepted my payment to file Wisconsin.  Please update so I can file or refund my payment!

I have the same problem, it shows it is available in the list and my software is up to date yet it says it is unavailable.  Can you please tell us when this form will be finalized?

Wisconsin Schedule 1 Issue

I had the same issue.  I called Support.   We tried a bunch of things.  None worked.  Then he had me go to turbo tax.com.   View downloads & had me redownload state.  Launched turbotax again & there it was & I was able to transmit my WI return.

Talked to support.  Used this work around:  go to turbo tax.com- go to my downloads-redownload St of WI-launch turbo tax & it should be fixed.  Hope this helps.

Wisconsin Schedule 1 Issue

I completed the Wisconsin return, and TurboTax allowed me to file it (and, of course, collected their $20), but now I can't print that return or save it as a PDF file.  When I try to fill in the form to receive a notification when the Wisconsin forms are complete, the response is that no forms will be sent, because none were requested.  Arggh!

Thank you for your response.  The problem appears to be Wisconsin form 8582, which is marked Do Not File.  The availability schedule says that it won't be available until March 3.  I suppose Wisconsin accepted my return because that form has no effect on my bottom line, or because Wisconsin doesn't check whether the form is final.  Apparently I won't be able to save my return as a pdf until that form is made final.  Wisconsin and TurboTax never seem to get along well.

Which Wisconsin form do you need?  There is no WI Schedule 1; are you referring to Schedule I?  Please clarify.

Wisconsin Form 8582 is available for mail; unsupported for Efile.
