Hello,
I am doing my 2021 taxes on Cash App Taxes this year. I have my 1099-G but all it states are benefits paid, federal taxes withheld, state taxes withheld, and a federal ID number. So, when I am asked about agriculture and RTAA payments should I just say $0.00. Also when I am asked for a state ID number, should I just enter the federal ID number? Thank you.

To clarify, what is this 1099-G reporting?
What kind of payment was it?
1099-G is unemployment
The IRS does not use state ID numbers on Form 1099-G. You may use any random number-letter combination if you can not proceed without a state ID number @iannlee
So, to be clear and safe, should I just enter the federal ID as the state ID? Also, since my 1099-G did not mention agriculture payments or RTAA payments, should I enter those as $0.00?
If the 1099-G is reporting unemployment, I think you are trying to enter it in the wrong section in TurboTax.
There are several different 1099-G Forms. If you are seeing Box 2 through 9 on the screen, delete that entry.
Please go back to Income
Scroll down to Unemployment located below Wages and Salaries
Enter your 1099-G from unemployment.
You will not be asked for the state ID
You will not be asked about those other types of payments.
RTAA Payments is somehow showing up as a line item with zero amount in my Federal return, last page under "Schedule 1: Additional Income and Adjustments to Income/Other Income". It is an attachment.
I have never received such payments and I recall one of the "Other 1099G Income" questions was asking if I had received a1099G which I clicked the No button.
Both returns are ready to be filed except with this one line item showing up which doesn't apply to my circumstances. Should I submit with this line item anyways since it is showing zero which is correct, or do I need to find out how to delete this line item? Did I miss something somewhere? I feel like this line item really doesn't belong in my Federal return.
Second note...CA return doesn't show this line item on same attachment.
Thanks.
The Schedule 1 form, is where additional income and adjustments to income, such as capital gains, unemployment compensation, prizes/awards, or gambling winnings, are reported in detail and then summarized on your 1040 form. You can check to see if you have any of these income items listed under the wage and income section of your return and delete them if they do not apply. Since you answered a question regarding a 1099-G this is likely the form that may be listed on the schedule 1 form. To review you can follow these steps:
Thank you @BrittanyS .
I followed your instructions and it is where Other 1099G Income screen that they asked me if I had received a 1099G and I clicked "No". There isn't a line item for me to delete.
I also checked under "Miscellaneous Income" where I do have other items listed, but RTAA is not one of them.
The Schedule 1 is used to report income such as capital gains, alimony, unemployment payments, gambling winnings, or some adjustments such as student loan interest deduction and educator expenses. Do you have any of these types of income or expenses?
If not, you can follow these steps to delete the Schedule 1 form, and it should clear the $0 you are getting:
@BrittanyS yes I have unemployment income and I listed my $350 MCTR, and some small miscellaneous class settlement checks. Therefore I cannot delete this form.
There is a screen that I accidentally clicked the second button which I cannot un-click. I wonder if this triggers the RTAA line item.
It is under:
--State Return
-- CA Credits and Taxes
--Credit Recapture
--Community Development Financial Institution Investment Credit Recapture
It has an amount field which I left it at zero, and two option buttons. The question was if the balance of your qualified investment after withdrawal $50,000 or more? First button was "Yes, balance was $50,000 or more" and second button was "No, balance was under $50,000". I should have left both buttons alone since this is not applicable to me. However I accidentally clicked the second button. I tried to “un-click” the second button but it doesn’t allow me to. I gave up and proceeded with the rest of the input.
Do you think this is why it populated a line item in my Schedule 1?
Is there a way to undo my input, clearing this particular screen only as I don't want to clear the whole CA State return.
Thank you very much for your help and time.
No, the data entered from the California State return will not reflect on the Federal Return's Schedule 1. I've run a few scenarios as a dummy return, and it appears the amount is showing up on the schedule 1 from the MCTR credit. At this point, the form should be entered on the federal return, but the IRS has not made the income taxable at this point. This is why the amount is showing up as $0.
Thank you. But this line item is RTAA, not MCTR.
My friend already filed her tax returns thru TT and her MCTR input didn’t trigger a line item that says RTAA.
The RTAA is listed under other common income; follow these steps to confirm that the selection did not default when you entered your "Other 1099-G":
Here is a screenshot of where the RTAA selection is made:
