State tax filing

The Schedule 1 form, is where additional income and adjustments to income, such as capital gains, unemployment compensation, prizes/awards, or gambling winnings,  are reported in detail and then summarized on your 1040 form. You can check to see if you have any of these income items listed under the wage and income section of your return and delete them if they do not apply.  Since you answered a question regarding a 1099-G this is likely the form that may be listed on the schedule 1 form.  To review you can follow these steps:

  1. Click Wage & Income
  2. Review the Your income and expenses section for the following:
    • Refunds Received for State/Local Tax Returns
    • Other 1099-G Income
    • Unemployment
  3. Click Review/Edit next to any that appear
  4. Click Delete or the trash can item next to any that do not belong on your return
