$25 charge at last step for e-filing MA state taxes

I have always used Turbo tax for filing.  The first time that I have seen a charge ($25) at the very end for something that I don't need.  I have already sent a check for my tax bill to the Commonwealth.  Very disappointed.  Do I have to pay the fee?

Yes to efile the state.   Or you can print and mail state for free.

In the Desktop program you get one free state PROGRAM download to prepare unlimited state returns. Then each state return (including the first one) is $20 to efile, usually goes up to $25 March 1. Or you can print and mail state for free.

OK - Do I get a refund of the $25 protection paid?

The $25 to efile state?   That is not for protection.  Did you already pay it?  Were you able to efile state?  If you have to print and mail you can ask for a refund.
