When I prepared my 2024 taxes it wasn't until I had submitted that I noticed the line 6B Taxable amount for Social Security Benefits was blank!! when I contacted Turbo Tax and spoke with an expert he stated that it was accurate and that my SSA Benefits weren't taxable. After noticing a delay in refund notification, I contacted the IRS and they stated it would take more time for a review, after several more weeks I finally received a notice that my refund was MODIFIED due to a correction, which was the SSA benefits that wasn't calculated correctly, I now have NO recourse for an amended return since I can't make that correction in this system, it doesn't allow for you to make the correction and I can't get anyone to understand or do anything about it since it appears AI is being used and the experts are clueless I don't think I will use this in the future!!!

Something strange going on here.
Exactly what date did you actually e-file it?
I'm wondering if there was some problem with an early version of the software.
It seems to be handling it correctly right now....but maybe not back in early January??

here's a conversation about that happening to someone else. (i.e. Just showing up now)
I filed on January 31st and I am totally exasperated with the lack of concern and inability to get this matter resolved with Intuit!!! I won't use this product again the support SUCKS
Check your tax return to see if you accidentally selected 'Yes' you were living in a foreign country checked. If so, this could have caused your experience and it has happened with others. This is shown in the link provided by StreamTrain and posted for you below.
If the IRS adjusted your tax return already, do not amend your tax return. If not, you may want to amend it now.
If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines.
Select your product below and follow the instructions.
I would like to add onto this post as TurboTax did the same thing for my mom’s return. Also causing a delay and an adjustment by the IRS in her refund.
did I need to file an amendment to correct this error?
If the IRS is making the adjustment, then you do not need to file an amended return since the change has already been made.
If you had noticed the issue before the IRS adjustment and delay, then an amended return would have been the right way to handle it.
We had the exact same issue. Has anyone been able to resolve this issue, after filing?
There is nothing to resolve. If the IRS adjusts you return and refund there’s nothing else you can do.
What usually happens is the IRS changed some other income on your return. Like the taxable amount of a 1099R you got or you missed entering some income. Like if a 1099R got entered on the wrong line 1040 line 4 or 5, the IRS would miss it and think you didn’t report it.
By increasing your other income it made more of your SS taxable.
Or There is a new question this year asking if you lived in a foreign place. People have been answering it wrong or skipping it. Go back through the Social Security entries.
