Same issue here. I've been trying to e-file (paying for TT out of my refund, which I selected Direct Deposit for) since Tuesday Jan 27. Tuesday, it refused to let me check out and kept bouncing me pack to Step 1 (choosing how to pay for TT) and today (Wed) it gives me the error message you refer to. This is so ridiculous, and the "expert" chat has been zero help.

It looks like the tech team is aware of this experience and are working to resolve this issue.

Same issue here. Is there a way for us to get notified once this issue has been resolved?

Yes, someone from the Help team eventually told me the problem was supposed to be fixed by end-of-day yesterday (Wed) but I just attempted to submit my e-file again this morning at 8am and got the same message.

This is incredibly frustrating and is making me not want to use TurboTax at all.

Some customers are experiencing issues when trying to file and pay with their refund.  We are investigating this issue.  However, if you would prefer to file now, you can do so by switching to pay your TurboTax fees with a credit card instead of using the pay with my refund option by following these steps.

Are you trying to Pay With Your Refund, or are you paying with a credit card?  If using a credit card, here's some things to check:

  • Address Mismatch: Go to "My Info" and temporarily update your mailing address to exactly match your credit card billing address, then try the payment again.
  • Remove Special Characters: Ensure no periods, commas, or symbols are in the name or address fields.
  • Clear Browser Data: Clear your browser's cache and cookies to remove outdated information.
  • Try Another Method: Attempt using a different credit card, or if paying from a refund, ensure your bank information is correct.
  • Check Card Details: Re-enter your card number, expiration date, and CVV code carefully, as saved information may be outdated.

Here's more info on Paying With Refund.

If you are using TurboTax and get the "snag" message, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • If using Desktop - Make sure the software is updated . See this help article for instructions to run a manual update.
  • Reboot your device.
  • Check your firewall and antivirus settings. Make sure they aren't blocking any feature of the software. Please see this help article for more information.
  • Clear cache and cookies
  •

If you are still having trouble, you might also try these steps if using Desktop version:

  • Run the Windows System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files.
  • Delete the downloaded file and download TurboTax again from InstallTurboTax.com. Sometimes files get corrupted during the download process.
  • Restart your computer in Selective Startup Mode, and then install TurboTax.
  • Install TurboTax on a different computer.

If you have tried all of the troubleshooting steps and the issue is still not resolved:

See this help article for instructions on how to contact TurboTax customer support depending on which product you are using.
