You can use your federal (or state where applicable) refund to pay your TurboTax fees.
When your return is processed, the bank that handles the transaction charges a $40 processing fee. If your return is rejected, you may need to re-enter your bank account information, but you won't be charged again.
To use this payment option:
Your federal or state (if applicable) refund must be enough to cover your TurboTax fees.
You must have a US address.
You have to e-file.
The name on the bank account needs to match the name on the tax return.
You'll need to direct deposit your refund into a single account.
Note: If your TurboTax navigation looks different from what’s described here, learn more.
To pay with your refund:
Open or continue your return.
Select File from the left menu.
On the Just a few steps left... screen, select Start or Revisit for the first step.
On the next screen, select View payment options.
Under Pay for TurboTax, select Use your refund.
How can I pay with my state refund?
Pay With Your State Refund is now available for taxpayers filing state taxes in Arizona, Colorado, California, Illinois, Ohio, Oregon, Michigan, and/or Wisconsin. To be eligible, you must meet all Refund Processing eligibility requirements (see above) and your state refund must be enough to cover your total TurboTax fees. If eligible, your TurboTax fees will be deducted from your state refund when received from your state agency. If you receive both a federal and state refund, fees will be deducted from whichever refund is deposited first and is large enough to cover your total TurboTax fees.
Pay With Your State Refund isn't eligible in Expert Full Service.
