Your refund may have been offset. The IRS and state governments can intercept refunds to pay for certain past-due debts (such as back taxes, child support, or student loans).   How to check for an offset:   The IRS Hotline: Call (800) 304-3107 for automated details regarding tax offsets. Official Notice: You will typically receive a letter in the mail explaining the specific debt and the amount withheld.   If you used "Pay with Refund":    If the IRS "Where’s My Refund" tool shows your funds were released but you haven't received them, please note that Intuit does not hold these funds. You will need to contact the Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG) directly: Website: SBTPG Support

I do not use a Mac so my experience with your situation is limited, but we have had issues this year in which the 1099-SA had to be deleted first so that another one could be added. Even in your case, if you were trying to add the first one, a false 1099-SA could have been created.   In any case, I suggest you do an HSA Reset in which you delete all HSA data and start over.   HSA RESET ***Reset***   1. make a copy of your W-2(s) (if you don't have the paper copies) 2. delete your W-2(s) (use the garbage can icon next to the W-2(s) on the Income screen)   *** Desktop/Windows***   3. Go to the upper right and click on Forms, and  4. Select the desired form (1099-SA (if one), 8889-T, and 8889-S (if one)). Note the Delete Form button at the bottom of the form’s screen.   *** Desktop/Mac***   3. Switch to Forms Mode by selecting the Forms icon. 4. From the menu, select the form (1099-SA (if one), 8889-T, and 8889-S (if one)) you want to remove (if you don't see it, select Open Form at the top). From the Forms menu, select Remove [form name].   *** Online ***   3. go to Tax Tools (on the left), and navigate to Tools->Delete a form  4. delete form(s) 1099-SA (if one), 8889-T, and 8889-S (if one)   5. go back and re-add your W-2(s), preferably adding them manually 6. go back and redo the entire HSA interview....

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

TurboTax is correct.   A taxpayer who can be claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer but is not actually claimed is eligible for the LLC (which is nonrefundable) if she has a tax liability and satisfies all the other requirements. She is also eligible for the nonrefundable portion of the AOTC, but not the refundable portion.   See this IRS document for more information.

Since you have a massive number of trades, the IRS actually allows you to enter summaries instead of individual lines, provided you attach a PDF of your brokerage statement later, which I will explain later. Entering summaries will allow you to reenter without reviewing all 600 entries.   Delete the imported data: Go to your Investment Summary and delete the brokerage account that’s causing the "Needs Review" headache.  Add a new investment: Choose "Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds." Choose "Enter a different way": Look for an option that says "Type it myself"  Select "Sales Section Totals": Instead of individual trades, enter the total proceeds and total cost basis for each category shown on your 1099-B (e.g., Short-term covered, Long-term covered). These are referred to as summary totals Once you enter your summary totals and e-file, a Form 8453 will be generated.  Because you aren't listing all 600 trades on the electronic return, the IRS needs your brokerage statement to verify those totals. Here you will need to mail the 8453 and the brokerage statement that details all 600 trades. Here is the procedure for completing and mailing the 8453 Form to the IRS.   Gather the following documents:   1. The printed Form 8453. This will print with your return. A copy of your 1099-B Consolidated Statement from your financial institution. You don't need to send the whole 100-page booklet—just the pages that show the individual transaction details (the "Line-by-Line" lists). 4. Mail Within 3 Business Days   The IRS is strict about the timeline. You must mail the packet within three business days after you receive notification that the IRS has accepted your e-filed return.   Mail it to:   Internal Revenue Service Attn: Shipping and Receiving,  0254 Receipt and Control Branch Austin, TX 73344-0254

You will have to amend your tax return to add the new W-2.   An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 12 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return. Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS. See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a current year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US?uid=lfunevhk

Are you claiming your mother as a dependent?   Or are you preparing a tax return for your mom?     In MY INFO you can indicate that she is legally blind.   On her own tax return she gets an added amount on her standard deduction.   If you are claiming her as your dependent, you do not get any extra credits or deductions for saying she is blind or disabled, unless you are paying someone to take care of her so that you can work.   As for  "transporting"  your mom---if she is your dependent, you can enter mileage for medical appointments as a medical expense.   There are no other credits or deductions for just driving your mom around.
