@PatriciaV  Thanks for the reply. I did mark "Final". I closed the LLC in Dec 2025, so technically shouldn't this 2025 return be the Final and not 2026? It feels weird to file an "empty" final return next year for the LLC. Plus I would like to just close the LLC out and not worry about it next year. Also, if I don't file the final return this year, will CA consider my LLC still open and I'd have to pay another $800 in 2026? What if I just leave it marked as final as-is? At the end of the form it says I owe nothing further (which is true), could I just leave it?
Click on File in the upper left of the desktop program screen.  Click on Remove State Return
Are you using the Online product? The Desktop product says "Date of Contribution (MM/DD)".   Anyway, treating it as MM/DD works. Try 04/08.

Yes,there is a way to remove it but before you do, have you considered to file as a full-year resident? Because, since you pass the substantial presence test for being in the US for more than 183 days in 2025, you may file as a resident alien for the entire year. If you file as a US resident, you may claim the standard deduction and the senior deduction.   If you wish to file a dual status return, you can remove the senior deduction by deleting Schedule 1-A in the return.   TurboTax online.   Go to tax tools tools delete a form locate Schedule 1-A then press delete. Log out of your return to save the change.   If using the Desktop software, go to the forms mode. Look for Schedule 1-A and select it. Once it appears on your screen, delete it at the bottom of the form.

As long as you know you are not required to take required minimum distributions (RMDs) at this time, and it's your contributions to the annuity, move forward with these instructions.  Answer the question that this is the full required RMD for 2025, this should allow you to move forward to finish your return. Please update if you have more questions with additional details and we will help.

You cannot file two tax returns.   If you already filed a tax return with Free Tax and it was accepted for processing by the IRS, you are done.  You cannot file again.   Your next attempt to e-file will be rejected because your SSN is already in the system.     When you filed the original return with Free Tax, did your tax form show a refund on line 35a or did it show that you owed tax due on line 37?   Did you make mistakes on that return?  Why did you use TurboTax to try and file another tax return?   CAN I USE TURBOTAX TO AMEND IF THE RETURN WAS PREPARED SOMEWHERE ELSE?   If you did not use TurboTax to prepare your tax return, it is possible to amend the return using TurboTax but it will really be a pain.  It would be better to use the software or service used to file originally.  If a paid preparer made a mistake on your tax return, that tax preparer should do the amended return for you at no charge. In order to use TurboTax to amend your return, you need to purchase the desktop software for the tax year and re-create the return EXACTLY as it appeared when it was filed with the IRS/states.  Every line has to be the same.  Then you have to "trick" the software into thinking you filed by saying you will mail the return. (but do not mail it)   AFTER that, you use the software to prepare a Form 1040X, which has to be printed, signed and mailed to the IRS.  It takes the IRS about 4-6  months to process an amended return

How enter 1099-R with distribution code P in NJ state return that is a result of withdrawing a $8000 contribution on 3/15/25 that was originally made on 4/5/24. I need to amend my 2024 return as there was a $50 gain.  Only the gain should be taxed as the 2024 IRA contribution netted to 0.   My amendment for Federal return is fine.  But NJ is taxing most of the $8000 contribution.

If you are saying you need to amend your original return, you can do that with TurboTax. Fill out your tax return exactly as it was before the amendment. Select to file by mail to finish the return. Next you can use the link below to file your amendment, but it will likely have to be mailed since you did not e-file with us originally.     After your enter your original return, do not change your tax return until you read all the instructions. TurboTax needs to know the original numbers and the corrected numbers to provide the correct end results before you prepare it.   If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines.    You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed. You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return. Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return. The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected. You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment Amend a tax return for the current tax year

TurboTax is calculating an "excess accumulation" that is not correct.
