TT has me going through installment sale questions without asking IF this is an installment sale, which it is not. It keeps circling back to the same questions without letting me go on past.

Yes, you are correct. ABLE account earnings are not considered taxable income at the federal level or the Georgia State level when they are used for qualified expenses.

Maryk, thanks for replying to my issue. The information you show seems to apply to a non cash donation (e.g. clothing donation). My issue is with a cash donation which has nothing to do with the physical condition of the item you donated. Here are some more details about this issue: I start on the screen that is titled “Your charities and donations” note that I don't have all the information needed to do my taxes so I am starting to enter my charities now before adding my tax information. I select “add another charity” And it goes to the screen “Lets enter you charities one at a time” and I enter the charity name and check the Cash box and select continue On the next screen is says Enter your total cash donations to <charity name> and I enter the value of my cash donation and select continue The next screen is titled “Your charities and donation” and by the charity I just entered it says “needs review”. I select the edit button for that charity and it takes me back to the screen “Let’s enter your charities one at a time” I never have the opportunity to enter the address of my charity.

If you have IRA distributions, you should receive a form 1099-R.
You can enter your form 1099-R by following the instructions in this TurboTax Help article.
For the QCD: While entering your form 1099-R, if you have entered a birth date which makes you older than 70 1/2 in the tax year, TurboTax will ask you if any portion of your distribution was transferred to charity. Answer Yes to that question and you can then enter the amount transferred to charity.
The code in box 7 of form 1099-R must be 7 and the box IRA/SEP/SIMPLE must be checked.
TurboTax will then reduce the taxable amount by the amount transferred to

@jiljones I thought so too when I searched the PDF document for text '5695' and only found it mentioned on Schedule 3. But for me, the Form 5695 was actually there. It seems that the form number is in an image, not text. Searching to the text '5695' would not find that page. I used my credit amount and searched for that, which worked.

Since they are a full time college student and working part time, are you claiming them on your tax return as a dependent?
If you ARE, then you would need to include the 1095-A on YOUR return and claim 100% and they would NOT add it to their return at all. You are correct, it is based on your income plus his as the premium tax credit is based on household income.
If you are NOT claiming them as a dependent on your return, then you would need to include it on your return and you could enter 0% as your shared allocation amount and 100% assigned to them.
Yes, the credit would then be based of of their income which since it is lower would likely mean they would not need to repay the credit. But, again, if you are claiming him as a dependent, then you would not enter it on his return.
What is the Premium Tax Credit?

I have the same question. I used ItsDeductible to calculate all my donations. Previously one needn't enter whether this was consignment value, thrift store value, etc,, BUT NOW YOU DO. So how in the world are we supposed to know which of these methods was used by ItsDeductible? Only TurboTax has the answer to that, so I hope they will share it. I could file my taxes right now if I had the answer to that question.
It's irrelevant. You need to know that these values are reasonable in your area. There have been times when ItsDeductible values were questioned by the IRS (as reported here by other customers in the past). Just because you use a "nationwide" value, and even if that value is generally correct, it is not proof of the value of your items in the condition they were in and in the local area where you donated them. If audited, the IRS is going to want to know how you valued your items. So, maybe check some stores that sell used clothing and household goods stores in your area (Goodwill, etc.). Walk in and see what their typical prices are. Or, if your items are better quality and could have been sold as a consignment shop, check a local consignment shop, or web sites like Thredup or eBay.
For what it's worth, I believe ItsDeductible values were reported as "comparable sales." That's a catch-all term that refers to a sale of a comparable item in comparable condition. It might be equivalent to thrift shop prices for common items and consignment shop prices for high end items. But it is ultimately your responsibility to prove (if audited) all the facts on your tax return.

Are ABLE accounts earnings taxable at the federal and state level (Georgia)? It is my understanding that ABLE accounts contributions, earnings, and balances are not taxed at the federal and state level(Georgia) unless an unqualified expense is made. And the only time anything related to the ABLE account needs to be reported on the ABLE account owner's income tax return both federal and state (Georgia) is when an unqualified is made. Is that correct?

I use TurboTax Business desktop software for my S Corp. I filed my 2025 W2 using the Employer Forms option in TurboTax. I filed the W2 on 1/26/26. To date I have not received the acceptance email from IRS. In the Turbo Tax EMployer Forms website its indicates that the W2 is processing. I have used TUrboTax for years to file my W2, and never has a delay in processing. Has anyone experienced delays in filining your W2 in Turbo Tax for 2025?

Is anyone having issues with 1099R's in Turbo Tax Home and Office 2025? I have made sure all updates are loaded; I have tried to manually enter the form; etc. The program stops responding immediately after entering a payer's name. I cannot transfer prior year returns to do a current return is the prior year return has a 1099R either.

Q1. No. You cannot claim the AOTC since you already completed a bachelors degree, even if it was in another country. The AOTC is limited to the first 4 years of schooling whether it is in the US or obtained internationally.
It is possible that you could claim the Lifetime Learning Credit, as that does not have a specific number of years you can claim it, but you do have to be attending an eligible educational institution.
If you are being given the AOTC, then you will need to go back to the education questions and answer that you had 4 years of college credit before 2025. This will make you ineligible for the AOTC, and will tell TurboTax that you would only qualify for the Lifetime Learning Credit.
Q2. For the Employer assistance section you will enter the amount that is not included in your W-2. which sounds like it is the $5,250. The rest of it is considered as you paying for your education because you are being taxed on it. This amount is treated just like you wrote the check to the school.

I uploaded an update released by Turbo Tax on 2/9/26, and re- transmitted by return a second time through the e-file, and the returne was rejected once again. And once again software indicates is due to a program defect relating to Form 4562. Once again the software indicates that the program defect is expected to be fixed by the next release, like it said last time. Anyone has any idea what's going on with this problem and by when Turbo Tax is expected to fix it?
