You must have a High deductible Health Plan (HDHP) to contribute to a HSA. To see if your health plan is a HDHP, check it against the definition of a HDHP in this TurboTax Help article. If your health plan in 2025 meets the definition of a HDHP, you can make contributions to a HSA until April 15, 2026. See this TurboTax Help article for more information about the HSA and the contribution limits.

@kdewein75 wrote: " I filed my taxes in 2024 for the year 2023. I was due to get back a refund but never received it . How do I go about finding that refund?" Do you know if the 2023 return was successfully filed? If you efiled it, did you get emails indicating it was transmitted and accepted for processing? Or did you file on paper by mail? Start by checking the IRS website's "Where's My Refund" tracker tool for tax year 2023: https://www.irs.gov/refunds Does it find your 2023 return, and if so, what message is shown? TIP: When using that tool, select the correct tax year of 2023, indicate the filing status you used for 2023, your SSN, and the refund amount shown on your 2023 Form 1040, Line 35a.

No one can get the 2024 AGI for you. But we can tell you how you can get it. How was your 2024 return prepared? If prepared in Online TurboTax, we can tell you how to find the account with the 2024 return. Another option if you have an online IRS account is to get the 2024 AGI from that account.

Did you already buy the desktop software then found you can't install it? If so, at the bottom of this posting I will tell you how you can move to TurboTax Online Premium Edition for no extra fee, and you will get 1 Federal return and 1state return if you file by April 16. There is no efiling fee in Online TurboTax. Be aware that Online TurboTax is only good for 1 Federal return per account. If you have to prepare more than 1 Federal return such as for family, you would need multiple accounts and separate fees. And unlike the desktop software there is no Forms Mode for direct viewing/editing of forms. If you haven't bought desktop software, and just start out on your own in Online TurboTax, the fee for Online Deluxe after 3/31/2026 is showing at $79 for Federal. A state return is showing at $64 after 3/31/2026. There is no efiling fee in Online TurboTax. So with both returns that would total $143 for Deluxe, plus possible sales tax. NOTE: You may or may not be able to use Online Deluxe. If you are accustomed to desktop Deluxe, be aware that Online Deluxe cannot handle everything. It cannot prepare Schedule C with expenses, Schedule D (gains/losses from stocks/bonds/mutual funds, etc.), Schedule E (rental/royalty), Schedule F (Farm), and cannot enter information from a K-1. If you have any of those things, you would need Premium Edition, which after 3/31/2026 would be $139 for Federal return and $64 for a state return. If you already bought desktop software and discovered that you can't install it, see this FAQ below about a special migration offer. When you try to install the 2025 software on a Windows 10 computer, you should get a screen saying it cannot be installed on Windows 10, and it will ask you if you want to move to Online TurboTax instead for 1 Federal return and 1 state return at no additional fee if you file by April 16. See the info in this FAQ: FAQ: TurboTax Desktop to Online Offer Terms (Tax Year 2025) https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/marketing/ty25-ttd-direct-offer/L0aUgksJ...

I am currently in the same position. Does TurboTax allow customers to upload supporting documentation from the university? Supporting documentation which includes an OPE ID as well as receipt of tuition paid - valid forms of confirmation when the university is not allowed to have an EIN or provide a 1098-T.

@user17748276180 - no, you can not ignore. You will not be able to successfully e-file without fixing it. Does the 1099-R really have an amount in Box 2a? how much? Code Q means this is a Roth IRA. Code Q means you are over 59.5 and the Roth IRA was opened for more than 5 years, so nothing should be taxable. If that is true, why is there an amount in Box 2a? You will be taxed on that amount.

why do you think it is incorrect? more details required. Maybe you misunderstand?

Sort of defeats the purpose of using TurboTax, then.

@bteschel the payment was due by January 15, You can use form 2210 to reduce the penalty. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f2210.pdf Here's why: Unless you use that form, the IRS assumes your income was the same each month of the year and the tax was due quarterly based on that smooth income. However, your income was probably "lumpy" since you completed a Roth conversion late in the year. Form 2210 will adjust for that. It won't eliminate the penalty but it will reflect that the penalty should only be for the 4th quarter.

You're brave to try it! But I'm still wary.

I have a PC that has Windows 10 on it and can't be upgraded to Windows 11. The 2025 Turbo Tax PC-based software only operates with Windows 11. So, I'm going to use the Turbo Tax Online program for my 2025 federal and state tax returns. I'll e-file both federal and state returns after 3/31/26, but before 4/15/26. I believe the cost of the Turbo Tax Online "Deluxe" version will be $79. Is that correct? The actual e-filing of the federal return should be free. Is that correct? Also, what will the cost of e-filing my associated state return be? I'm a bit confused by Turbo Tax's advertised prices. Thanks.

Hi, I have the same issue as you where I try to amend the 2024 return online and it redirects me to the 2025 return when trying to finalize the amended return. I assume it's a TT bug where they have not considered the case that somebody started the 2025 return when amending the 2025 return. I would like to find out how you amended the return using the desktop version? I tried that and am facing these issues: 1. When I select 'amend return' in the desktop version, I don't see a way to import my tax file and have to start with an empty slate. 2. When I import my tax file, I don't see a way to amend the return. Perhaps I'm missing something. Any guidance greatly appreciated.
