Your refund date will come from the IRS.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh
.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst
If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act. Do not expect your refund before early March
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US
Note: “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”. TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing. Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing. If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.
FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE:
https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund
How it works
Where's My Refund shows your refund status:
Return Received – We received your return and are processing it.
Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown.
Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

I don't see "Security and Services", only a Security Center on wellsfargo.com. On wellsfargoadvisors.com I don't see anything related to Security. Can you please clarify? I am at the point where I get Clearinghouse to download but the data is not filled into the TurboTax forms. I've already turned on Local Network Access. Thanks

I took the Illinois educator tax credit in 2024. I see it in my Illinois tax return. Illinois did not remove this credit for 2025. The k-12 tax credit mentioned above is for parents of k-12 students . That is a different credit. Is it possible that TurboTax failed to include the educator tax credit in their app? I went on the Illinois. Gov dept of Revenue web site and it confirms there is an educator’s expense tax credit , Illinois schedule 1299-C, line 11. TurboTax either omitted this tax credit option in their app or it is hidden very well.

The quarterly estimated tax payments for 2026 look too low. I selected the option to pay 100% of my actual 2025 taxes ($23,282), round up to nearest $10, and no 2025 refund applied. TurboTax calculates quarterly payments of $5170, which totals $20,680. This is $2602 less than my 2025 taxes. I can't figure out if there is another setting that would explain the apparent discrepancy. I use the desktop Home & Business version. I ran the updater this morning which installed updates, then rebooted my PC. Get same result after the update.

If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.
To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings:
Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL.
Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu.
Toggle the switch to ON.
Refresh the page and attempt your import again.
If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play:
Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements.
Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back.
Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser.

User: Just to be clear, you entered for the year 2025, that you had Family HDHP coverage for every month in 2025? You see, TurboTax has no way to knowing that you retired.
1. What did you enter as your HDHP coverage for each month on 2025?
2. Did you enter the same for your spouse?
3. How much did you contribute to your HSA on your W-2?
4. What was the size of your personal contribution in the 4th quarter?
5. It seem likely that you made some change in your entries for the first three quarters versus the fourth quarter, or else TurboTax would not have shown excess contributions over the year
