Getting error 190. I have completed suggested fixes without success. Did a fresh download and went through the advised steps: Need Help You may receive the following error message when trying to open your file in TurboTax Desktop: The tax return you are attempting to load contains one or more state tax forms which are not installed on this machine. Please install state(s) to continue. Follow these steps to fix the error: Open TurboTax and select Start a new return. Go to State Taxes. Download the states you need. There may be a fee if you need more than one state or if your version of TurboTax doesn't include one free state download. Close TurboTax.   Reopen TurboTax. Open the file that generated the error.

I don't know if this issue is still being worked on to resolve the 'bug' so I just wanted to give a more complete explanation for what may have been the problem. I'm sure you have other problems that are consuming your time that makes it difficult to remember all the details of every issue.   Thanks and I appreciate all your help.   Neil

Once the amend return section is available, you can use it to amend your return. Basically, you will add the missing Form 1099-R like you would have normally and electronically file the amended return to the IRS. Since it was a ROTH IRA distribution, it may not affect your tax, since most ROTH IRA distributions are not taxable.
Spoke to an Intuit rep today.  Had to uninstall the program.  Reinstall from the website not the email.  Was given a new license code and it is working ok now.
Until today there has not been an update. I will check the solution again (form input instead of "walk-through"), and let you know.

You will only report income in the state that you lived in or worked in.  So if you were a resident of NY then NJ for a short period of time and did not receive any income during that time, you would not  need to file a tax return for NJ or NY. If you started receiving income one a resident of PA, then you would file as a part year resident since you were only a resident of PA for part of the year.   When you say you were a temporary resident, does that mean you came to the US from another country so that is the reason you had your first job in PA or did you recently graduate or move out from living with your parents and that is why you had your first job?  If it is because you came from another country, then be sure that you are considered a Resident for tax purposes prior to filing with TurboTax.  If you did not meet the substantial presence test or are a Green card holder, then you would need to file a 1040 NR which TurboTax does not support, but our partner Sprintax.com does.  They can help you with both your federal and your state returns.
My driver license and mailing address was in PA tell I came back on Dec 2025  in MA I didn’t have a home or anything related to me in MA first time here I changed everything to MA

Hi! I am running my son's taxes for him and he has this exact scenario where tips are lumped into box 1 and shown nowhere else on his W-2.  He does have the total for 2025 shown on his final paystub of the year.  Is there any news on when to expect the update to TurboTax to support this? Thanks!

@danimee6    I just had another user who has this issue delete his state return and was successful filing. He didn't need to file a state return, but went through the state process to make sure he didn't need to file it. He deleted that state return and filed his Federal. His just got accepted by the IRS.     Can you try this and let me know if you are successful? Thank you!
Assuming your pension income in box 1 or 2 of your Form 1099-R has the Medicare premiums deducted from it, you cannot add it to other Medicare premiums paid to get an additional deduction.

Great news. Sorry, I forgot you told me you didn't need to file state. Thank you!
No, because a child age 19 does not qualify for the Child Tax Credit, which can only be claimed for a qualifying child aged 17 and younger.
