Please make sure you do not enter this in the IRA contribution section you will only enter this in the retirement section when you enter your Form 1099-R and answer the follow-up questions.
Assuming your Form 1099-R has code G in box 7, TurboTax should ask you the following questions after you entered the 1099-R :
On the "Did you move this money from a 401(k) to a Roth 401(k)?" screen answer "No"
On the "Did you move the money to a Roth IRA?" screen answer "Yes"
Note, if you split the funds to go into the Traditional IRA (rollover) and Roth IRA (conversion) then you will have to split Form 1099-R into two separate Forms for TurboTax to handle this situation. One for the rollover to the traditional IRA and one for the conversion to Roth IRA. As long as the total and distributions codes match entering it like this will not cause a problem.

The information required for the Vermont schedule HS 122 is entered by going through the Vermont return until you see a screen titled Vermont Homestead Declaration. Your answers on the screen after that one will determine whether you will enter data for the schedule HS 122.
If you owned a home as of December 31 or rented for at least 6 months and expect to purchase a home by April 1, then the next screens will be gathering information for the homestead declaration HS 122. This is where you should be able to update or change your information.

It depends. If you use a "Positive Adjustment" on the Federal worksheet to show a payment that’s not reported on a W-2 or 1099, such as an extension payment or a prior-year overpayment, TurboTax may flag it as "Not Done" because it’s expecting a specific source for that amount. Here’s a suggestion to clear up the discrepancy and fix the Arizona return.
The cell is red because TurboTax’s smart check looks for a clear source when you make a manual adjustment. Here is a suggestion how to fix it.
If you’re using TurboTax Desktop, switch to Forms Mode. If you’re using the online version, go to the Deductions & Credits section, then Estimates and Other Taxes Paid.
Instead of entering the amount directly into the worksheet, enter it under “Other Income Taxes Paid in 2025” and choose “Withholding not already entered.”
Entering it this way connects your data to the right schedule and clears the “Not Done” error.
Be sure to close your return to save any changes, then open it again to continue working on it
Arizona Line 53 pulls its amount from the Federal "Total Payments" section. If you increased the federal payment with a positive adjustment, it may be making your Arizona withholding too high.. Arizona Form 140, Line 53 should only reflect withholding. If the number is too high because of a Federal adjustment, you’ll need to lower it to match the correct withholding amount.
Arizona Form 140, Line 53 is used only for withholding. If the number is incorrect because of an adjustment pulled from your federal return, check the "State Taxes Paid" section in the Arizona interview. Look for a screen called "Income Tax Withheld" or "Taxes Paid to Arizona." TurboTax usually shows a table with all your W-2s and 1099s. If you see your "Positive Adjustment" as an extra row, remove it from the table.
Keep in mind, the entry you made on Schedule A (Step #8 in your guide) only affects your itemized deductions. It won’t fix a credit or payment issue on Line 53.
If you’re using the Desktop version, you can override Line 53 in Forms Mode by right-clicking it and choosing Override. Just know that this will prevent you from e-filing.
If the "Positive Adjustment" is a tax payment that shouldn’t count as Arizona withholding—like a payment made with an extension—follow these steps.
Remove the "Positive Adjustment" from the Federal Tax Payments Worksheet if you are using the desktop program
Go to Federal > Deductions & Credits > Estimates.
Enter the payment under State Estimated Taxes or 2024 (or 2025) State Extension Payment.
This puts the amount on the right line of Federal Schedule A as a deduction and marks it for Arizona as an estimated or extension payment, not withholding. The amount will move from Line 53 (Withholding) to the correct payment line on the Arizona return, usually Line 55 or 56.

When you enroll in a Marketplace plan you are asked for your estimated income for the year. This is what they base your Advanced Premium Tax Credit off of. The Advanced Premium Tax Credit is the reason you have a $0 monthly premium.
When tax time comes, the Advanced Premium tax credit is reconciled with your actual income for the year. If your income is greater than you reported when you filled out the application for insurance, then you may have to pay some or all of the tax credit back.
If your household income is more than 400% of the Federal Poverty Level, then you will be required to repay the entire amount of premiums that you received in advanced that you were not eligible for due to too much income. If your household income is less than 400% of the Federal poverty level, then you may have to pay back some but not necessarily all of the credit you were not eligible for that you received in advance.
If your income changes at all during the year, or if your living situation changes, you should report that to Healthcare.gov as soon as possible to avoid having to pay too much back.

Payments and Withholding is the amount of state tax you claimed on your 2024 FEDERAL return. It may be listed on your Schedule A, but be aware of the SALT limit for tax year 2024. You may have 10,000 on your 2024 Schedule A, but really had paid 12,000 in state tax such as property tax.

There is a tax “loop hole” available to claim an education credit, for the parents of students on scholarship. The student reports all his scholarship, up to the amount needed to claim the American Opportunity Credit (AOC), as income on his return. That way, the parents (or himself, if he is not a dependent) can claim the tuition credit on their return. They can do this because that much tuition was no longer paid by "tax free" scholarship. You cannot do this if the conditions of the grant are that it be used to pay for qualified expenses.
Using an example: Student has $10,000 in box 5 of the 1098-T and $8000 in box 1. At first glance he/she has $2000 of taxable income and nobody can claim the American opportunity credit. But if she reports $6000 as income on her return, the parents can claim $4000 of qualified expenses on their return.
Books and computers are also qualifying expenses for the AOC. So, extending the example, the student had another $1000 in expenses for those course materials, paid out of pocket. She would only need to report $5000 of taxable scholarship income, instead of $6000.
Q. If student files income tax return separately from parents (stating that student can be claimed as dependent on parent's form) can student use the standard deduction?
A. Simple answer: No. But, maybe. Dependents get a $1350 standard deduction or their earned income + $450, up to the $15,750. Furthermore, scholarships are a hybrid between earned and unearned income. It is earned income for purposes of the $15,750 filing requirement (2025) and the dependent standard deduction calculation (earned income + $450). It is not earned income for the kiddie tax and other purposes (e.g. EIC). For grad students and post grad fellows, scholarship, stipend and fellowship income is earned income ("compensation") for IRA contributions.
Taxable scholarship goes on line 8r of Schedule 1, from which TT treats it as hybrid income.

I think you’re right. Very frustrating that tech doesn’t seem to acknowledge. A word of caution: I decided to switch to “file by paper” just in case and printed my return. Now when I go back into the online portal it looks like I’m locked into that option and can’t even try to fix the Efile situation anymore. Maybe I’m missing something but don’t switch to paper unless you really have to.

The Canada pension is discussed in this TurboTax Help. It states:
Per IRS Publication 915:
Under income tax treaties with Canada and Germany, Social Security benefits paid by those countries to US residents are treated for US income tax purposes
as if they were paid under the Social Security legislation of the United States.
In other words, if you're a US resident, you'd enter your Canadian CPP and OAS benefits as though you'd received a Form SSA-1099 from the Social
Security Administration.
The Help explains the entry into the TurboTax versions.
The UK pension is discussed by @colleen3 at this Help. It states:
As to the Federal ID, UK pensions often do not have it, try entering nine 9s. If electronic errors occur due to 1099-R data entry, please enter the pension in Miscellaneous income. As long as IRS has the pension reported and included in total income, it is not problematic. If your pension receives no special tax treatment, you are fine to report it in the miscellaneous income.
Follow the steps below to report this income in TurboTax Online.
Select Federal from the left side menu.
Click on Wages & Income.
Scroll down to Less Common Income. Click the down arrow to the right.
Click Start / Revisit to the right of Miscellaneous income….
Click Start / Revisit to the right of Other reportable income.
At the screen Any other taxable income? select Add.
Enter the description of the income.
The income will be listed on line 8z of the Schedule 1 Additional Income and Adjustments to Income and line 8 of the Federal 1040 tax return.
