I thought about doing the same. But, I decided I would rather do it the right way with the correct dates that correlate back to the form 15400 Tesla provided me. I'm really disappointed in Intuit concerning this issue. I've made multiple calls and talked to various "Managers" but no resolution. Still waiting on a past due call back from them. AI can't come soon enough. This issue should be in the "Too Easy" bin for Intuit.

I have been using TurboTax for more than 20 years, previously I always used desktop version, only switched to online version a couple of years ago. I remember we could access the worksheet in the online version, similar as desktop version, but I noticed we could not do it since last year. anyway, if Turbotax cannot fix this bug, I may have to go back to desktop version.

What charitable donation credit? If you are talking about the donation credit that will not go on Schedule A---that is for next year when you prepare a return for 2026. For 2025, all donations of goods or cash go on Schedule A with your other itemized deductions like mortgage interest, property tax, etc. etc.

Yes, here is how to enter the information in your TurboTax return. To get your 1099-Q to match your physical form and report correctly:
The Prompt: "Box 6: Is the recipient of the distribution the designated beneficiary?"
The Follow-up: "Recipient is not designated beneficiary [Yes / No]"
If you (the parent/account owner) received the money, you are the recipient, but your child is the Designated Beneficiary. In this case, the answer is NO (you aren't the beneficiary). This will result in Box 6 being checked on the software's internal version of the 1099-Q.
In regard to the question about the 1040, it depends on who needs to report the 1099Q. This question is to tell the IRS who the income should be linked to if the distribution ends up being taxed.
If the Recipient is the Beneficiary (Student): The 1099-Q is reported on the student’s tax return. Since students usually have lower income, any taxable "earnings" are often taxed at a 0% or 10% rate.
If the Recipient is NOT the Beneficiary (Owner/Parent): The 1099-Q is reported on the parent’s return. Any taxable earnings will be taxed at the parent’s higher marginal tax rate

Please clarify - the numbers that you received on form 1095-A were all zeroes or the numbers that you entered into the system became zeroes after you entered them?
You should enter all of the amounts from the 1095-A into the system and add them up to make one form. If there are any amounts in overlapping months add them together.

To clarify on this question. I did not have an account for the refund to be deposited in but there was an account number already there and trhe system skipped over the account area and I was not able to change the account number, which I know is not mine. therefore where will the refund go if that is not my account?
