The best way to report this is as Miscellaneous Income. Follow these steps:
In the Federal under Wages & Income
Under Less Common Income select Start for Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
On the Let's Work on Any Miscellaneous Income page, select Start to the right of Other reportable income
On the Any Other Taxable Income? screen, select the Add button.
On the Other Taxable Income screen enter the description and amount. (I would enter 1099-NEC Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board or similar so it it clearly identified.) and Continue.

Online tax preparations and E-filing has been permanently closed for 2024 returns since the end of October 2025. The ONLY way to file your 2024 return is by mail. Print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

I sold my truck that was partially used for business purposes. Now my AMT Dep Allowed/Allowable is not adding up but I can't seem to find where it is on my form or where to fix it.

You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !
EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

How do you restart your return??? I accidentally clicked that my child pays half of their expenses so it says I don't qualify for the tax credit and I can't go back and click another option. However, there's also no where to click to restart the return!! Why is this so frustrating? It shouldn't be hard to click back and be able to click another option.

For your IRA distributions, you should have received Form 1099-R for each distribution.
When you input the information from each Form 1099-R into TurboTax, the taxable amount will automatically be calculated and transferred to Form 1040.
You do not need to do this manually.

If you enter additional medical expenses, but the total still doesn't exceed the threshold for you to be able to benefit from deducting them, the message you mentioned will appear.
In TurboTax Online, to add medical expenses:
Go to Deductions & Credits.
Select I'll choose what I work on.
Go down to Medical.
Select Start or Update by Medical Expenses.
While you can deduct some of your medical expenses to reduce your taxable income, there are rules to keep in mind.
Whether you’re deducting your health insurance premiums or expensive hospital bills, you can deduct any medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI). This means that you can’t deduct any medical expenses if your total medical expenses don’t exceed 7.5% of your AGI. In addition, that amount plus other itemized deductions has to exceed your standard deduction in order for you to benefit from deducting them.
See this article for more information regarding deductible medical expenses.

When Turbotax goes to Check my entries it comes back and says "We found 1 area on your return where we'll need to review your entries". clicking on the Check Entries button takes me a Check This Entry page that shows my state information worksheet. It flags the first name (which is not wrong) and has a note at top of screen saying:
Information Worksheet: Form 1099-Q is still being worked on. Please return after it has been updated..
I thought at first it meant that I was missing something in my 1099-Q but now I wonder if what it is really saying is that 1099-Q in Turbotax is still being worked on and I need to return once they have updated Turbotax. I am on the latest version WinPerRelease 025.000.0245

Select Tax Home
Select Federal
Select Wages & Income
Select Investments and savings (Jump-to link)
Select (+) Add investments
On the screen headed Save time and connect your financial accounts, select the button Enter a different way
The next screen, How do you want to add your docs? will give you options for:
Upload - select a file from your PC, such as a scanned file of the 1099 or downloaded PDF, for TurboTax to pull in the data
Snap a photo - requires a smartphone; take a picture of the form(s) to automatically populate the data without a scanner
Import - to try this option again, or pull in additional investments
Type it in myself (underneath, next to Continue) - to type in the 1099 data manually

If there was tax withholding directly from your retirement distribution, it should be in Box 4 of your 1099-R. Be sure to enter it in TurboTax.
