I am trying to use the calculator provided, but it's asking for wages so far in 2024. I'm assuming this is supposed to be 2025? Or am I doing it wrong?

To file this form for both years, you would need to log back into the program for 2023 and 2024, and then print Form 725 out, and mail it according to the filing instructions.
See page 6 on these instructions for 2024 and for 2023 for Form 725.

I am a Maryland resident, with some (first-time) income from Ohio estate trusts as described on K-1s received for Ohio. Have completed all federal income/deduction/other entries via the TT (Windows desktop version) step-by-step screens. Need help finding the step-by-step dialog screens for allocating (to Ohio) the income received from the Ohio trusts. I found relevant screens a few days ago, but cannot retrace the path to them now. Is an easy step-by-step entry point available?

@pk Could you cite the authoritative literature that says foreign tax credit can only be claimed for income taxes paid to countries with a U.S. tax treaty? Also, why the foreign income tax paid to Colombia may be claimed as SALT? Thanks. I totally agree with you that if the pension was paid to his wife in 2025, then the taxable portion must be reported on their 2025 1040.

Form 120S, Schedule K-1 is actually a pass-through report from an S-Corporation that is included on your tax return. If you are a full year Arizona resident and are getting an NR form, you may need to make an adjustment on the S-Corporation side to ensure your activity is reported as a Arizona resident in the future. (If a firm prepares the form, you should reach out to them for a corrected form.) Do not ignore the form as it does include activity that needs to be reported on your personal return and if it has activity from Arizona sources, you need to report those amounts on your state return as well as your federal return.
In the future, you should only receive an Arizona Form 120S, Schedule K-1 for the period of time where you are an Arizona resident.

If you are married you need to file a joint return with your spouse in order to get the most child-related credits possible. Your filing choices are to file married filing separately or married filing jointly. If you file separate returns you will not be eligible for earned income credit, or for the childcare credit if you pay someone to take care of your children while you work. You should be eligible for the child tax credit for your children who are under the age of 17.

Yes you need to report it. Especially interest from the IRS. They know they sent it to you. And you must report all your income. Even $1.00 of bank interest you don't get a 1099 for. And if the IRS changed your tax return and AGI you still enter the AGI from your original 1040 return next year to efile.

@Renigma Yes you have to report all your income no matter how small. Even $1 of bank interest you don't get a 1099 for. If you have self employment you need to report it even if under $600. You have to pay the self employment tax on $433 or more. What if 20 people paid you $500 so you didn't get any 1099NEC forms. That would be $10,000. Or if someone didn't send you the 1099NEC for over $600? You need to keep your own good records. There are many reasons to report all your SE income. The Net Profit on Schedule C can count as Earned Income to qualify for credits and IRA deductions. And you might be able to write off medical premiums without using schedule A for itemized deductions.
