Someone tried to file my taxes with out my consent and now I cannot figure out how to get my return it says it had been approved but I have never received anythang

You can't receive anything until you file your own correct tax return on paper via US Mail( assuming you did not file already and get ACCEPTED).

Also see Form 14039 to report Identity Theft.

Due to issues at the IRS, IRS says it takes about a year to process Form 14039.

Did you e-File your tax return and get ACCEPTED, but are still waiting?

APPROVED can only be found on the IRS website after you file and you know the refund amount you expect to get.

We do not understand your statement that "someone tried to file my taxes without my consent."  Please explain that to us.   We can be more helpful if we understand.

Did YOU try to e-file?  Was your e-file rejected?  Did the rejection message say that someone else already used your Social Security number?

What is "it" that says you were approved?  Where did you see that?

Someone filed my taxes while I was incarcerated thinking they was going to get my refund I suppose when I got out I went to file my taxes and when I logged on it said that my refund was approved  but there was never a deposit made to my direct deposit

TurboTax never says your refund has been approved.  TurboTax can only say if an e-file has been "accepted" which is not the same as "approved."   So----did you see something that said a return was accepted?

Check your IRS online account to see if a return was filed with your Social Security number, or see if the IRS has a transcript of a tax return for you.

If you are looking at your online TurboTax account and you are seeing that a tax return was prepared in the account, and that the return was accepted, you can also look at the tax return.   You can print it out and see the page of filing instructions that show where the refund was supposed to be going.    You can look at line 35a and see how much the refund was.   Track the refund on the IRS refund site.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
