Hi Everyone!!
After doing a lot of reading (community posts and the "expert" responses) and research...I came to the conclusion THIS COMPANY has a lot of hidden fees!! They are not UPFRONT FEES that are explained! The $59.00 was a fee that I WILLINGLY agree to pay! The other fees are the HIDDEN FEES. As a company, TurboTax should state these fees UPFRONT.
With all that being said, I I was able to locate where my missing $218.20 from my tax return went!
Here's what I found and the proof
below:
TURBOTAX ONLINE DELUXE TAX YEAR 2023 PREP $55.20
TURBOTAX ONLINE STATE GA TAX YEAR 2023 PREP $64.00
this equals out to $178.20.
there is $40 that is unaccounted for in the bill breakdown. Little Miss Expert, May I get an answer for why the $40 isn't accounted for in this bill breakdown?!
the amount the IRS stated I would receive.
the partially hidden fees and what they cover.
the break down of what the fees cover. $40 dollars is mysteriously missing.
what i actually received after filing taxes with TT.
In conclusion, we all just need to find another company to support.
Yes, I also was sure to choose the lowest amount for the TurboTax option each time they asked throughout the process. My refund started at $433, with $22 that I would owe to the state. I expected that deduction and the minimum deduction for Turbo Tax. I only received $194 after they took out $127 for premium which I never selected, $64 for processing the state refund, and $40 as another processing fee.
Iwas hoping to put the extra money towards my tuition fees next semester. Thanks for nothing. And if this is the IRS pressuring y'all to pay more for doing taxes, please just be upfront about it instead of scamming us.
Same here.... got a deposit today that was almost 400 short.
What is being done about this? Anything?
Neither one of those reasons applies to me so why then was mine shorted?

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

Is the amount sent/issued by the IRS the same as the refund amount shown on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 35a? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If not, then go to this IRS website for information on reduced refunds - https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc203
Are you also receiving a state tax refund? If so, the state refund is sent directly to you based on how you chose to receive the state tax refund, it does not go through the third party processor.
Use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
Have you factored in the TurboTax account fees and the TPG service charge of $40 plus any applicable sales tax?

Mine is also short more than it said.
That’s what I’m wondering
What if the amount is $900 less than what the IRS said they sent after adjustments. My return was 2k, I already knew $750 was coming out for back taxes. IRS said that my return was reduced and the the new amount was $1247.06, after TT fees I should've received about $1000. However, I only received $144. I have no liens, no debts, no child support. I even called the IRS offset number and they said I have no debts. All I know is about $900 is missing and I don't know where it went. Been using TT since 2012 with no issues, so whether this gets fixed or not, I will never use TT again.
@cstokes1234 You have to contact the third party processor, SBTPG, to find out why you did not receive the whole refund that was sent by the IRS. Or you can contact the parent company, Green Dot Corporation.
