@Triciacoates  Maybe they are still backed up. I  finally got my refund on Monday and I did it on February 16th. It just took them a long time to finish processing it. I’m hoping that they figure out that they owe me my third stimulus check that I never received. I had to do the taxes to claim the first and second stimulus checks. But now I have my refund just hoping that they will figure out that they owe me the third stimulus check also. I hope that you get yours soon

Filed and accepted 2/22.  Got letter from IRS today.  Said the Incentive rebate was calculated incorrectly (just punched the numbers into TT and it apparently calculated the incorrect answer.  At any rate I’m getting an extra $12.35 back.  Woo Hoo.  Said I should receive payment in 4-6 weeks.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.   Many refunds are taking longer during the pandemic.  The IRS is backlogged —-they are still trying to process millions of 2019 returns; they received millions of e-filed on the day they opened for 2020 returns, and now they are burdened with sending out another round of stimulus checks.

Some delays are resulting from incorrect amounts that folks entered for stimulus checks they received.   Many people have been confused by the recovery rebate credit and completed it incorrectly.  The IRS may delay your refund while they cross-check to see what you received.  Some refunds are delayed because of the tax law changes that went into effect recently.   If your return has unemployment or the premium tax credit on it, that may be delaying it.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 34of your 2020 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

My return was accepted in Feb 12. It is May 24. What is the problem and what is the solution there after. I filed in January or it to be accepted. I have received two letters stating I needed to provide additional information. I had protection against the IRS doing this through turbo tax????? Any additional thoughts as to why I was then asked to be charged twice for a a service that I have not received? I was sent an email stating that I owed turbo tax for my return preparation when it originally would be taken out of my taxes which I have not received.

What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

@fc1466 TurboTax receives no information from the IRS after you file your tax return.  TT does not know anything about whatever the IRS requested from you.    It is up to you to provide the information that the IRS requested.   What is the letter number or CP number on the request that you received?    You do not have "protection" against the IRS requiring additional information from you.   TurboTax is a software program----the software does not know when a user enters something incorrectly or leaves out information about income received, etc.

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

@xmasbaby0 -Stop the lies about Turbo Tax does not receive any information after you file your return. You sell Audit defense and I am quite sure you receive information about which returns were successfully processed and those that were not.

What does "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available." Exactly mean?

@Blackjacobin4 I am not an employee of TurboTax and have no reason to lie to you about the software or what it does.  I am a volunteer who provides help in the user forum.

Audit defense has nothing whatsoever to do with the processing of your original tax return.   TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS about your return after you file it.   The IRS does not share information about your return with a software company after you file it.

Perhaps you did not understand what "Audit Defense" is or when it can be used.   The fact that your refund is delayed does not mean you are being audited.  Audit defense does not come into play for a delayed refund.
