Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

Going forward, you can avoid this (and save the extra charge) by paying your TT fees upfront with a debit or credit card.

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

As I stated prior, TT has taken their fees out of my refunds for YEARS. Why is this year problem? Why are gas prices double what they were 3 years ago? Why are many items out of stock in stores? Why is there no baby formula on the shelves in some stores? Why is the stock market tanking? All coincidences?  If you do not know the answers to these questions, then you are part of the problem. Still no refund, no updates filed and accepted 2/3/22 . I do not even check WMR anymore.

As already mentioned ... you signed a contract and then failed to respond to the first 3 emails warning you of the debit and how to avoid it.   By the time the final email arrived there was no option to stop it.   Sadly it is your fault alone for not responding sooner.   As already mentioned, pay the fees upfront instead and save the extra fee and hassles.

Better yet, if you qualify, use one of the totally free options thru the IRS FREE FILE link. For 2021 your AGI  just had to be under 73K.   https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free

I won't be using them any more as well. They have a massive lawsuit, for misleading with free, when it is free through the irs. I called them explained nicely to them you don't have permission, to charge any account. I told her I was recording, and that I will had the recording over to 2 gov agencies, as well as the bank your gonna try to charge, but you will be denied. Ive explain this before you try to charge the account. She it will be deferred for 21 more days. I will never use turbotax again, and all the people I do taxes for on turbotax will be going with me.

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

I haven't gotten my refund but still getting charged---ended up getting a prenote on my direct deposit. I used wisely I doubt TT would be able to deduct fees so I don't get my refund I don't think they will see that 186 wisely won't allow the account to go negative...

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

TT already provided you with a service, and cannot wait forever to be paid.  What if you never get your tax refund?

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

How can I see my TurboTax  fees?

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2565973-how-do-i-review-my-fees-in-turbotax-online

You do not have to use TurboTax ever again if you do not want to.   But you need to be aware that no matter what tax software program you choose to use in the future ---- when you choose to have the fees deducted from your federal refund there will always be a fee for that choice, and there will always be a stipulation that you have to pay your fees within an allotted amount of time whether your refund arrives or not.   So avoid that situation.   Pay your software fees upfront.

And next time---see if you qualify to use any of the free filing services offered on the IRS site:

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

This is such a ridiculous small print that should be in full BOLD Lettering for situations like this (COVID) DELAY'S OUT OF OUR HANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...how is it the client's fault that the IRS has no MAN POWER TO COVER AND PROCESS taxes in the timeframe you only allow and give to your customers!!!!!!!! If Turbo Tax so affiliated with the IRS as mentioned everywhere why would they not make the exemption of holding back the TAX RETURN FEES from TT as well...second it being said TT is already ridiculously EXPENSIVE now FREE YEAH RIGHT which I understand different tax situations but still B.S!!!

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

ALL of the paid tax programs offer the same "pay from your refund" option from the same processing bank so don't get caught in the trap ... NEVER use the refund processing service ... ALWAYS pay the program fees upfront ... OR BETTER YET USE ONE OF THE IRS TRUELY FREE FILE OPTIONS if you qualify.

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

I am in the same situation! My refund got approved and I received my state refund but not my federal, so I know I entered my information right! This TurboTax plus or whatever isn't worth it! You can't even get too an "expert" without fighting the automated system and when you get there they basically are like I can do anything for to the IRS tracker and it doesn't work!

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

So you are saying the extra money I paid for your companies service isn't even done by you guys and yet you charge us! You guys literally send your work to other people and blame your customers for wanting information from the people who said they will help us! The IRS doesn't give the TurboTax no information on the things we paid you for. Also just to threaten charging our accounts because of something out of our control and apparently TurboTax can't either?!?!

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

So y'all want your money? Because it was promised to you right? Also this is money you get because you double check a paper or account to send it to the IRS and have them do your work we paid you for? Funny on how your company can get their money when they want because it was promised to them and the rest of the people that paid you guys to help and get our taxes done in a timely manner. You get to delay the people the money that was already taken from us all year long and when we get a piece of what was taken from us you guys say I can't do anything and pay me. I have no words for a tax website meant to solve answers and keep us updated isn't keeping their end of what they are charging for.

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

So credit scores and just supposed to be torched because of a million dollar company. Can't wait like the rest of us?

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

@Dukecity97 - please put the anger and emotion to the side..

Turbo Tax helps you complete the tax return error free.  THAT is what you are paying for,

Once it is accepted by the IRS, Turbo Tax is not involved anymore - that is the way the IRS works.  To maintain the confidentiality of your information, the IRS will not disclose anything to anyone, other than you... and they won't tell Turbo Tax anything either.  Turbo Tax is simply not involved.

Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

The IRS is taking longer this year to process returns.  Like 6 months or more.  Just keep waiting.

If the IRS is taking too long to send your refund you still have to pay the fees in time.

See What if the IRS reduces your refund or delays it.

Then when the IRS does send your refund they won't take the fees out again.

And, Why you got charged,

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-was-my-bank-account-auto-debited-for-tur...

You should have received about 4 emails asking for the fees.  If you don't pay they will debit your account.  You had to agree to it.
