You can speak to a person, you just have to go through the procedure to do that. You can get TurboTax support contact information, including phone numbers, at this link: https://turbotax.intuit.com/support/contact/index.jsp

Once again. Your suggestion failed. I was just taken to another stupid robot that does not help at all. I will never use Turbo Tax again. What a waste of my time. My taxes were accepted on February 24 th and I still have not received a $3505.00 refund that I desperately need. And no one at Turbo Tax wants to help figure out why. And no one in the IRS will speak to me either. VERY FRUSTRATING !!!

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.

 

To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

 

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

I am in total agreement with you.  this Turbo Tax thing looks good until you realize you have been charged $246.00 for items you could do for nothing or at least for a lot less.  then these AH want to deduct their fees out of your checking account because the IRS is stalling on the refund that Turbo Tax Set up for you to receive. then you realize you need an act of Congress to speak to a live person and tell them that you do not

have $246.00 for them to take.  Now, this is suppose to be a benefit for people who work for UBER.  This whole program is a SHAM and does 

not proide the bbest service at the best price.  Who do you talk to to have these guys understand that I have NOT gotten my tax return through no fault of my own but because of the IRS being slow.  But If I have to wait  on my Tax Return why can't you wait on your overchaged FEES!!!!!  I am telling you uber drivers and alike Turbo Tax is not the BEST OPTION.  YOu are being overcharged and then screwed.

What did you get charged 246 for?  The Self Employed version is 119 for Federal and 49 for state.  Did you add on Live expert help feature?  Or Audit Defense/Max?

The idea is to file my income tas... so if they are not filed I did not receive anything.  the contract is only complete whe I receive my income tas.  that is the purpose of the service.  If I don't get a refund that is one thing..  If my refund does not have enough in it that is nother  But we are dealing with the government proned to delays.  The bottomline is if I don't get paid neither do you..How about them apples

@trelemmons - just an alternative thought....

 

the idea is to PREPARE your income tax. That is what you are paying for.

How you file (efile or paper), when you file or if you file, is not what yoy pay for.

 

Turbo Tax helps you create a tax return.  Once that step is complete, their contract requires payment (that is why you can't even see the tax return until you pay if you are using the online version of turbo tax)

 

There is no fee charged by Turbo Tax to efile (or paper file).

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

You do not have to use TurboTax ever again if you do not want to.   But you need to be aware that no matter what tax software program you choose to use in the future ---- when you choose to have the fees deducted from your federal refund there will always be a fee for that choice, and there will always be a stipulation that you have to pay your fees within an allotted amount of time whether your refund arrives or not.   So avoid that situation.   Pay your software fees upfront.

After screaming about the high charge for filing with turbo Tax, one of the customer service reps pointed out that I had used an Expert

online to help me file my taxes and that was $149/-- I explained that I never used that service.  I thought the charges were for filling as

an independent business owner because I work for Uber and Door Dash and needed help calculating my gas and mileage etc.  but I never used

an expert, just input the info that Uber provided.  So, I was charged for something I did not even use??? Refund Request is falling on deaf ears.

this company so sucks.  You cannot reach a humans until you have gone through 10 of those virtual assistants who cannot decipher anything you yell speak or scream.  If I cannot get someone to respond to my request.  I guess I will file a lawsuit or file a complaint with consumer affairs. I am so sick of this company

Is the expert assistant thing prepopulated may want to get an attorney general to check that out Dealing with so many vulnerable people, you guys need to be a little more diligent.  Check those virtual assistants who answer your phones who do not understand the English Language.  Send Me My Refund!!! $149/00 after hounding me for YOUR money

I want a refund! I decided to use turbotax for the first time. I used live help, and my efile is still pending 3 days later! I will NEVER use turbotax again!!
